    Have you guys seen this?

Apparently, some states are allowing compaines to keep state taxes they collect from workers! So that money, which should be in your pocket, isn’t going toward the state/community but into your company’s bottom line. I mean, wow, I can not believe this!

Across the United States more than 2,700 companies are collecting state income taxes from hundreds of thousands of workers – and are keeping the money with the states’ approval, says an eye-opening report published on Thursday.

The report from Good Jobs First, a nonprofit taxpayer watchdog organization funded by Ford, Surdna and other major foundations, identifies 16 states that let companies divert some or all of the state income taxes deducted from workers’ paychecks. None of the states requires notifying the workers, whose withholdings are treated as taxes they paid.

General Electric, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors and AMC Theatres enjoy deals to keep state taxes deducted from their workers’ paychecks, the report shows. Foreign companies also enjoy such arrangements, including Electrolux, Nissan, Toyota and a host of Canadian, Japanese and European banks, Good Jobs First says.

Why do state governments do this? Public records show that large companies often pay little or no state income tax in states where they have large operations, as this column has documented. Some companies get discounts on property, sales and other taxes. So how to provide even more subsidies without writing a check? Simple. Let corporations keep the state income taxes deducted from their workers’ paychecks for up to 25 years.

It was not always this way. Letting companies keep their workers’ state taxes apparently began in Kentucky two decades ago as a way to retain jobs.

Last July when I wrote about six big companies that pocket Illinois state taxes I knew there was more to this. But I had no idea how pervasive these diversions were until I read an advance copy of the 39-page report by Good Jobs First.

Seriously, go finish the story. He gets into the report and lays out how these corporations are screwing not only the state but their workers (wages have stagnated while this practice continues). This is the kind of thing newspapers should be reporting about; if the media gave this information to the people they’d vote differently and this would be a major issue. Instead, no one knows about the practice it seems. I just found out this morning!

Instead of litigating the mommy wars; maybe they could bring in some CEOs to explain why they’re keeping wages stagnant WHILE ALSO collecting state taxes from our paychecks and pocketing them.

    • Miranda

This is damn theft from the workers. This is just plain evil.

    POU /WOW &1/2 – —-MAYOR CORY BOOKER – - — HERO – –

    — – — –Newark Mayor Cory Booker taken to hospital after rescuing woman from house fire – –

    – — – -Newark Mayor Cory Booker was taken to a hospital Thursday night for treatment of smoke inhalation he suffered trying to rescue his next-door neighbors from their burning house.

“I just grabbed her and whipped her out of the bed,” Booker said in recounting the fire. Booker told The Star-Ledger he also suffered second-degree burns on his hand.

The fire started in a two-story building on Hawthorne Avenue in the Upper Clinton Hill neighborhood, shortly before the mayor arrived home after a television interview with News 12 New Jersey.

Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment: the mayor, a woman from the house and three members of his security detail. The woman was listed in stable condition at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with burns to her back and neck.

Booker left his home shortly after 6 a.m. this morning to make an appearance on the CBS Morning Show in New York. The mayor will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. at his home to discuss the incident.

Newark Fire Director Fateen Ziyad said after the mayor arrived home he saw flames and smoke from the second floor of the building next to his home, and no residents outside,

Booker rushed in and his security detail followed him, Ziyad said.

As fire and EMS arrived, they administered oxygen to Booker and his security detail and took the mayor to the hospital. Newark Fire Chief John Centanni was at the hospital with Booker and said the mayor and his detail were “banged up” but would be fine. The residents of the building also appeared to be okay.

The first federal indictment for an anti-gay hate crime in U.S. history has been handed out today to two men in Kentucky.

A federal grand jury in London, Ky., returned a three-count indictment charging David Jason Jenkins, 37, and Anthony Ray Jenkins, 20, for kidnapping and assaulting Kevin Pennington, and for conspiring with each other and with other unnamed individuals to commit the kidnapping. The indictment charges the men with committing a hate crime in violation of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which expanded federal jurisdiction to include certain assaults motivated by someone’s sexual orientation.

The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act was signed into law by President Obama, by the way.

Matthew Shepard was tortured and killed in 1998 because of his sexual orientation.

Giving new meaning to ‘constituent services’
By Steve Benen – Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:00 AM EDT.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) is known for taking constituent services seriously. He has, for example, taken it upon himself to shovel driveways after snowstorms.

But when it comes to public officials looking out for their neighbors, there’s constituent services and then there’s constituent services (thanks to reader V.S. for the tip).

Newark Mayor Cory Booker was taken to a hospital tonight for treatment of smoke inhalation he suffered trying to rescue his next-door neighbors from their burning house.

Out of the Shadows, ALEC Loses Altitude

    By Ed Kilgore

Some good news for a Friday 13: the list of donors withdrawing support from the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) continues to grow, with candy-maker Mars joining burger giant Wendy’s, its rival McDonald’s, along with beverage purveyors Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co, plus Kraft, Intuit and the Gates Foundation.

As important as the financial hits undoubtedly are, the even more important development is the emergence of ALEC from the shadows, where it has always flourished. In state legislative circles, its influence has long been legendary, and not just among Republicans (as a tax-exempt organization, ALEC has always been extremely careful about getting at least smattering of Democratic legislators to show up at its typically swank events, though that was a lot easier back in the days with overtly conservative Democrats walked tall in southern state legislatures). But mentions of ALEC inside the Beltway drew blank stares until very recently. And the legislators who championed ALEC-written cookie-cutter bills in most states were able to get away with pretending they were the actual authors.

All that has changed now, for good, and for the better.

    – –NRA is restless despite its political clout: – -NRA members are so worried about President Obama that they are rooting for Mitt Romney, who once supported stiff gun restrictions.[FLIP- -FLOP!!] – - -

    – - – –These should be good days for the National Rifle Assn. The nation’s leading gun group enjoys immense political power and has effectively muted the debate about the use of firearms in America.

Under its leadership, gun rights advocates have seized the legislative momentum from gun control supporters. High-profile shootings such as the Trayvon Martin case have stirred outrage but few calls for action. Polls show the public, though still divided on guns, has shifted away from broad support for further restrictions.

“I think the NRA is winning,” said Dan Gross, the new president of the Brady Campaign for gun control.

Still, as more than 65,000 NRA members gather in St. Louis this week for their annual convention, the organization sounds more worried than complacent, and faces an uncomfortable reality in the coming presidential campaign.

    – - -The NRA leadership is throwing its wholehearted support behind Republican Mitt Romney, who once incurred its ire by supporting stiff gun restrictions as governor of Massachusetts. Despite that history, it sees Romney as a vastly better gamble than President Obama, although Obama has done almost nothing to restrict gun use.

“We believe Mitt Romney would do a better job than President Obama,” said Andrew Arulanandam, a spokesman for the NRA, which claims nearly 4 million members. “We believe that any of the candidates on the Republican side would be better on the 2nd Amendment” — the right to bear arms.

Romney, an NRA member who has said he owns two shotguns and likes to shoot “varmints” such as rodents and rabbits, is among a who’s who of conservative leaders scheduled to speak to the convention Friday.

So yesterday Micheal Smerconish was subbing for Tweety and he had Alan Dershowitz on discussing George Zimmerman affidavit files yesterday by the prosecutor. Dershowitz said it was “unethical and irresponsible” and II was more taken aback by his tone, and how accusatory he was towards this prosecutor based soley on her press conference and I guess the affidavit and it just seems rather inflammatory towards her. It made me wary of even listening to what he said, he said it in such a bitter and rather partisan way too.

Anyway, Booman was also wondering much the same as I was…how much should I care what Dershowitz says?

“Any Lawyers Want to Help Me Out?

    http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2012/4/13/92413/0195

Okay. I am willing to potentially make an ass out of myself this morning. I noticed during my morning reading that Prof. Alan Dershowitz said that the affidavit filed against George Zimmerman was “irresponsible and unethical” because it was so thin on details and because it was consistent with a self-defense argument. To be honest, i was disappointed that the affidavit didn’t provide any new information, but I am also confused by Dershowitz’s response…

“Angry” is the right word to use. he seemed angry at Angela Corley based solely on the affidavit??? It made no sense to me that he would seem so angry

    • dannie22

I didnt understand what dersh was saying either

    • Miranda

      Isnt Dershowitz a fool though?

    • Ebogan63

      He’s still around?

    • Town

Wasn’t Dershowitz contacted by the Zimmerman family or suggested as a lawyer for the Zimmerman family?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he offered his services to the Zimmerman family pro bono.

EDIT: I’m guessing Dershowitz is a Jewish name…are the Zimmermans Jewish too? I mention this because at the press conference Corey mentioned she prayed with Trayvon’s family and I noticed she was wearing a big crucifix. The RWNJs were whining about her prayers yesterday on the Laura Ingraham show. So I’m wondering if any of this has anything to do with his anger.

      • gc

The Zimmermans are not Jewish. My antenaee went up with that name, but Jews killing in cold blood is out of character. I do not want to claim Dershowitz but he is Jewish. I found him interesting during his early days of celebrity, but he has become extremely angry and bitter. It is not just this case.

I’m also frustrated at Jon Stewart. I believe he distorts the news in the same way the trad media does to score “joke” points.

And I want to weigh in on Trayvon’s parents media over exposure. I feel uncomfortable saying this, but this is not a good idea. I winced the last time I saw the poor woman holding back tears, and NOT because I feel anything but compassion for her. I am unbelievable sorry that we have to live in a world where ethnic groups have to think in terms of reaction to THEIR behavior, but asi es. The goal is conviction and I worry that over exposure might negatively impact that.

    – — —Newt Gingrich has reached new levels of desperation: To raise cash, he’s started renting out his campaign’s donor list for up to $26,000. Gingrich’s campaign is $4.5 million in debt, and apparently those $50-a-pop pictures with Newt weren’t helping to close the gap. Insiders tell Politico that Gingrich and wife Callista insisted on continuing to use private jets, top-level security, and other perks despite the diminishing popularity of the campaign. “They overspent to keep up the appearances of being a top-tier candidate,” says one former campaign aide. “If you have a campaign bus and you’re flying in on a chartered jet, but you do not have the money for that, you end up sacrificing your ground game.”

Politico notes that the donor list rental is risky, considering the fact that it could turn off Gingrich’s supporters and donors. It could also weaken his support since donors will get multiple solicitations from various conservative groups,

    – -Iowa Republican State Senator Proposes Drug Testing Child Support Recipients – –

    – — -,b>A favorite Republican pastime recently has been to demonize the unemployed by proposing that they submit to drug tests before collecting their unemployment insurance. Both at the federal and state level, Republicans have pushed for such a policy, even though, as it turns out, such requirements save barely any money and only prove that those on unemployment insurance are less likely than the public at large to be using drugs.

One Iowa Republican this week decided that such measures are not enough. During debate over Iowa’s budget, state Sen. Mark Chelgren (R) proposed that people who receive child support payments also be forced to submit to drug tests on the whims of the person making the payments:

The proposal came from Sen. Mark Chelgren, R-Ottumwa who said he was pushing the idea on behalf of an unidentified constituent who believed his ex was using child support money for illegal drugs.

A person paying child support under Chelgren’s proposal could require the recipient to a drug test every six months as long as they pay the costs.

THIS – — ->“We shouldn’t be ducking our head and running away every time there’s a difficult issue coming up,” Chelgren said. However, following open laughter in the Iowa Senate chamber, Chelgren withdrew his amendment.

Sepia – —-OBAMAs – -BIDENs —TAX RETURNS —

    – - -President Obama and Vice President Biden’s 2011 Tax Returns – —

    – - – -Today, the President released his 2011 federal income and gift tax returns. He and the First Lady filed their income tax returns jointly and reported adjusted gross income of $789,674. About half of the first family’s income is the President’s salary; the other half is from sales proceeds of the President’s books. The Obamas paid $162,074 in total tax.

The President and First Lady also reported donating $172,130 – or about 22% of their adjusted gross income – to 39 different charities. The largest reported gift to charity was a $117,130 contribution to the Fisher House Foundation. The President is donating the after-tax proceeds from his children’s book to Fisher House, a scholarship fund for children of fallen and disabled soldiers.

The President’s effective federal income tax rate is 20.5%. The President believes we must reform our tax system which is why he has proposed policies like the Buffett Rule that would ask the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share while protecting families making under $250,000 from seeing their taxes go up. Under the President’s own tax proposals, including the expiration of the high-income tax cuts and limitations on the value of tax preferences for high-income households, he would pay more in taxes while ensuring we cut taxes for the middle class and those trying to get in it.

The President and First Lady also released their Illinois income tax return and reported paying $31,941 in state income tax.

The Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden also released their 2011 federal income tax returns, as well as state income tax returns for both Delaware and Virginia. The Bidens filed joint federal and combined Delaware income tax returns. Dr. Biden filed a separate non-resident tax return for the state of Virginia. Together, they reported adjusted gross income of $379,035. The Bidens paid $87,900 in total federal tax for 2011. They paid $13,843 in Delaware income tax and $3,614 in Virginia income tax. The Bidens contributed $5,540 to charity in 2011.

It is amusing to witness a wealthy politician make an effort to relate to a blue-collar construction worker when everyone knows the closest the politician probably ever came to construction work was phoning a contractor to solicit bids to build their mansion’s gymnasium, or car elevator. Throughout the long Republican presidential primary, Willard Romney has attempted to identify himself as a regular guy who understands the working class, but regardless taking his tie off and donning denim pants, there is the iconic photo of him sitting next to a private jet while a servant shines his shoes. Romney’s problem identifying with any group other than the ultra-elite of the top 1% of income earners must run in the family because his spouse, Anne, displays the same failing in attempting to identify with the majority of women in America.

    – - –THIS – —>The faux outrage over Democratic National Committee advisor Hilary Rosen’s out-of-context statement that Mrs. Romney “has actually never worked a day in her life” is typical electoral pandering by the Romney camp, and is probably an attempt to make up for some of the damage Willard’s positions have caused to his support among women.

Tennessee Senate Approves Bill To Warn Students That Hand-Holding Is A ‘Gateway Sexual Activity’

Like any state legislature dealing with 8 percent unemployment and thousands of its residents facing disenfranchisement, the Tennessee Senate is targeting the menace of underage hand-holding.

Last week, the Senate passed SB 3310, a bill to update the state’s abstinence-based sex education curriculum to define holding hands and kissing as “gateway sexual activities.” Just one senator voted against the legislation; 28 voted in favor.

Since the bill specifically bans teachers from “demonstrating gateway sexual activity”, educators would be prohibited from even demonstrating what hand-holding is.

How YouTube and Twitter are hurting Mitt Romney
Posted by Chris Cillizza and Aaron Blake at 07:50 AM ET, 04/12/2012
    TheWashingtonPost

It’s a strategy as old as American politics: You run toward the party base — on the left or right — in the primary and then move to the ideological middle once you become your party’s standard-bearer.

But, the explosion of video-sharing sites like YouTube and microblogging technology like Twitter badly complicate this age-old formula.

Take Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. After being dragged to the ideological right during the primary season by the likes of former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and former House speaker Newt Gingrich, Romney is in the early stages of moving back to the center in hopes of courting electorally critical independents.

Nothing new there. But, because basically every phrase that Romney uttered during the primary (and well before that) is either available on YouTube or Twitter, President Obama’s reelection team has tons of ammunition as they try to hold Romney to some of the things he has said in the past.

On Wednesday, the Obama campaign released a video splicing together Romney’s greatest hits (or, more accurately, misses) from the Republican primary race.

Here’s what senior Obama strategist David Axelrod tweeted out about the web ad: “As the GOP primary season closes, lots of enduring memories! (Put another way, video is the enemy of Etch-a-Sketch.)”

Think about what a sea change that video represents. Ten years ago (or even maybe five years ago), the ability for anyone to quickly and easily upload video and share it was nonexistent. Finding quotes — or images — from candidates in obscure places or at anything other than sanctioned campaign events was virtually impossible.

Given those limitations, it was far easier for candidates to put their primary rhetoric behind them when they became the nominee. To call them on their past contradictions involved a) finding some tape (audio or video) of their remarks, b) convincing a news operation to run it, and c) hope that average voters saw the report. All of those barriers have now fallen.

“Presidential elections reveal the character of the candidates,” said Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s top aide in the 2008 presidential race. “All of the elaborate strategies designed by the campaigns to obscure the positions, core beliefs and character of the candidates from public view will give way under the intense and unrelenting scrutiny of an interconnected, fast-changing social media universe.”

While that brave new world is complicating in the near term for Romney as he seeks to slough off some of the more conservative positions he embraced in the primary, it’s also a potential problem for Obama, who ran on “hope” and “change” in 2008 and, for many, has delivered less of both than they had hoped.

Dear media: Stop playing along with fake controversies
    By Jonathan Bernstein

Greg already flagged a brutally bad New York Times story about the Hilary Rosen flap earlier this morning, pointing out that the Times totally butchered Rosen’s (non-) involvement in Barack Obama’s campaign. He’s right — but that only scrapes the surface of what a bad job this story does with the phony controversy that broke out when Rosen said something stupid on CNN on Wednesday.

Let’s start with the headline: “Collision Over Roles of Women Sets Off Combative Debate Along the Trail.” Huh? That never happened. There was no “collision over roles of women,” and especially not “along the trail,” which is to say, in the context of the campaign. What actually happened is that one TV talking head, to be sure someone there to represent the Democrats, said something foolish which was immediately pounced on by Mitt Romney’s campaign…and by the Obama campaign as well. No collision. No debate.

The article took the entire “controversy” (as framed by Republicans) at face value

The campaign for the White House spilled into the politics of motherhood on Thursday as a combative back-and-forth involving a Democratic strategist and Mitt Romney’s wife quickly revived a deeper, decades-old cultural debate about the roles of women in and out of the workplace.

Again: that never happened, at least not within the campaign’s context. Did some people use Rosen’s words as an excuse to wallow in a “decades-old cultural debate”? Sure. But no one who speaks for the Obama campaign or the Democratic Party in any meaningful capacity took the “objectionable” side of that debate. No officials from the Obama campaign or the Democratic Party said anything about stay-at-home moms that attracted criticism. And when one lone Democrat did say something, the Obama campaign and the larger Democratic Party network condemned it and said exactly the same things that the Romney campaign said. There was no campaign disagreement. Anyone who only read the Times story would have come away believing that there was an actual presidential campaign dispute over stay-at-home moms.

Here’s the bottom line. We’re going to have these manufactured controversies throughout the campaign. Both sides know how to take an awkward remark and turn it into a huge flap, regardless of whether there’s anything real behind it. Hey, editors and reporters: don’t fall for it! No one is really offended; there’s no there there, and you shouldn’t be afraid to say so. It’s fine to report what the campaigns are up to, but whether it’s Etch-a-Sketch or this one or the next dozen that are going to follow, there’s absolutely no excuse for taking this stuff at face value

If a bill falls on a website, does it really make a sound?
By Steve Benen – Fri Apr 13, 2012 9:25 AM EDT.

In his official portrait, Romney sits alongside his health care law, which he doesn’t want to talk about.

Yesterday was the sixth anniversary of Mitt Romney signing his Massachusetts health care reform plan into law, a milestone the presumptive Republican presidential nominee seems eager to ignore.

How eager? Ezra Klein made an interesting observation about this.

Here’s something odd: There’s nothing on Mitt Romney’s Web site about the sixth anniversary of Romneycare. No news releases. No blog posts. Nothing

That’s true, and it made me curious about the rest of Romney’s website. Sure, the campaign chose to completely ignore the anniversary of “Romneycare” — aides apparently had other issues on their mind yesterday — but in general, what do Romney materials have to say about his signature policy accomplishment?

    As it turns out, nothing.

On Romney’s biographical “About Mitt” page, there are only two paragraphs about his one term as governor — the only experience Romney has in public office — and there are literally no references to the health care law that came define his time in Boston.

OK, but what about his page on health care policy? The Romney campaign has a 700-word summary of Romney’s position on health care, but there are literally no references to the former governor’s landmark law.

This is rather bizarre. Romney’s health care reform initiative was supposed to be his springboard to national office. It wasn’t just his signature accomplishment as governor, it was a historic victory for Romney, giving him the kind of bragging rights few policymakers in either party could claim.

If Obamacare Is Struck Down, These Americans Are in Trouble

Millions could be hurt if the Supreme Court scraps health care reform. Here are their stories.

Marla Tipping’s 14-year-old son, Cam, has to have his blood cleaned every two weeks. He has a rare condition that makes his body produce too much cholesterol.

Tipping says her family has had “to be absolutely vigilant in never having a lapse in coverage…because many carriers would never carry you with a preexisting condition again.”

At a fancy dinner party, guests were effusive in their compliments over the food. Her employer took all credit and even said: “It took a lot of my time but I’m so glad you like it” Never once did she say “the maid did it all” which my Tia had done, being a wonderful cook. - —Michelle, Kerry and the War on Black Women- –

    - – - -For a moment there I was beginning to think that the “War on Women” only had upper class White women as casualities. While the decades long “War on Women” continues to fill Democratic fundraising letters and the much shorter lived (like about 24 hours) “War on Mommy” seems to have left Ann Romney and her Barbie Dream House unscathed – the other War on Women continues unabated.

    What other War on Women?

The one about the most powerful Black woman in America: Michelle Obama. A few tabloids have reported that Michelle is in full diva mode and has decreed that Kerry Washington be banned from the White House for being too ‘flirty’ with President Obama. While we all know this is bunk it makes you wonder: why aren’t attacks on Michelle (or Kerry for that matter) considered part of this war as well?- – —

    - –POU FAM:- – - -THIS IS A BOLD-FACE LIE!!- – -I’m ONLY POSTING 2 FOCUS on the WAR on OUR BELOVED FIRST LADY.]-

    - – - -An African American woman has to be the Jezebel, the Harpy or the Mammy, and sometimes a combination of the two. Despite the immense popularity of Michelle Obama, these themes still permeate popular culture and pretty much explain a lot about Kerry Washington, Michelle Obama and this whole fake “Scandal.”

    - – — SKIP- – - -

Along the same lines the War on Women Michelle Obama-style has taken some time to hit its stride, but it has finally arrived. Michelle Obama can’t be a Mammy, she’s not a heavyset dark Black woman sitting around making White people feel good about themselves. Plus, Barack thinks she’s hot and mammy’s aren’t allowed to be sexual. She’s not the Jezebel since she is faithful to her husband. So clearly she must be the harridan, constantly bringing Obama down right? The war against Michelle began during the campaign when she was chastised for talking about Obama picking up after himself. And has pretty much morphed into the typical racist “Mrs. Yo-Mama”, comparisons between Michelle and a gorilla , that she emasculates her husband to more specific racially motivated attacks about her looks, personality etc. This current Enquirer story just wraps a couple of these War themes together.

    - — -SKIP- – –

    - – - -But, it is worth noting that this little war has other targets besides law students and rich stay at home Moms. Black women like Michelle have been on the front lines for years and no one has sent them a flak jacket yet.

As the author stated- – –there was NO WAR on ANY OTHER- –FIRST LADY!!

Jada Pinkett Smith Speaks Out Against ‘Ridiculous’ Rumors of Marital Trouble

    Friday April 13, 2012 08:00 AM EDT

Why us? That’s what Jada Pinkett Smith has been wondering, after she and husband Will Smith became the latest star couple to be subject to rumors of marital strife.

Asked why the speculation won’t go away, she tells French magazine Gala: “I have no idea! Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it’s us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it.”

She adds: “Will and I know the truth. We’re waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over.”

Obama Tax Return Shows 2011 Earnings of $789,674
    By The Associated Press
    Posted 11:15AM 04/13/12

The White House says President Barack Obama and his family paid more than $160,000 in federal taxes last year.

The president’s 2011 federal income tax return shows reported adjusted gross income of about $790,000 last year. About half of the first family’s income is the president’s salary. The White House says the rest comes from sales of Obama’s books.

Obama’s effective tax rate is just above 20 percent – lower than many Americans who earn less. He has made tax-rate fairness a campaign issue.

The White House released a copy of the president’s tax return, which also shows charitable donations of more than $172,000.

Obama is donating after-tax proceeds from his children’s book to the Fisher House Foundation. The charity helps veterans and military families receiving medical treatment. Obama tax return shows 2011 earnings of $789,674.

Didn’t I say that this story didn’t make any sense??!! That the “victim” sounds like he is lying?

One of Bernie Fine’s accusers admits his story was a complete lie

Whether it’s an Alabama fan poisoning the trees at Toomer’s Corner or geriatric Kentucky and Louisville supporters coming to blows at a dialysis clinic, college sports make people act very irrationally at times.

But what Zach Tomaselli says Kansas’ loss to Syracuse in the 2003 national title game spurred him to do is even more malicious if it’s in fact true.

Tomaselli, one of the three men who accused Bernie Fine of molesting them, now insists he has never met the former Syracuse assistant coach and the story he has told for five months is a fabrication. The 23-year-old wrote in an email to CNY Central late Thursday night that he lied at the request of fellow Fine accuser Bobby Davis in part because he was still upset his beloved Jayhawks lost the championship to a Camelo Anthony-led Syracuse team.
