I’m reading on twitter that Romney has backed out of the interview. Probably did, why embarrass himself AGAIN? His regular rallys are enough for that.

As Clock Winds Down, Obama and Romney Agree to ‘Monday Night Football’ Interviews
By BILL CARTER
The last couple of national media interviews for the two presidential candidates will take place during one of the few events that still unites much of the country: a football game.
President Obama and Mitt Romney will appear at halftime of the “Monday Night Football” game in New Orleans between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints. They will answer questions — presumably somewhat more oriented to the world of sports than to Libya or auto bailouts — from the ESPN studio host, Chris Berman.
It is becoming something of a tradition the night before the election: four years ago Mr. Obama and John McCain also appeared at halftime on “Monday Night Football.”
LOL, I can’t wait for tomorrow so we won’t have to deal with this sorry-ass loser anymore.

Yep and there is absolutely no reason for us to have to see him. Unlike the Moosillas and Huckabees of the world, he’s not short cash so doesn’t need the on-air gigs. Jack Welch is already filling the titan of business and industry [*cough* outsourcing *cough*] role so no room on the podium there. Perhaps that’s the up side of having someone who’s filthy rich running.

There’s always Celebrity Apprentice. I’m sure his BFF The Donald would give him the hookup.

I doubt it, Romney has the “I want to be President” virus. If its not him we are gonna see one of his sons go for it. I hope I’m wrong.

Nationwide High School Students Choose Obama for 2012 Presidential Election
November 4, 2012, Mount Hermon, MA – High school students across the country took to the polls this month and chose President Barack Obama to serve another term as President of the United States in a nationwide mock election.
More than 54,000 students from more than 130 schools across the United States—at least two from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia—participated in this year’s VOTES Project (Voting Opportunities for Teenagers in Every State), one of the nation’s largest mock elections, began in 1988 by teachers at Northfield Mount Hermon School. High school students across the country campaigned on behalf of President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney—as well as third-party candidates—holding rallies, debates and other campaign events leading up to tonight’s announcement of the winner.
Barack Obama received 316 electoral votes and Republican challenger Mitt Romney received 208. Obama received 50.2% of the popular vote (27,107), and Romney earned 41.2% (22,252).
Texas marching band features Big Bird decking Romney as Obama does backflips
During a Saturday night football game in Beaumont, Texas, a half-time show featured Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney getting decked by Big Bird while President Barack Obama did backflips, busted some moves and led the marching band to its grand finale.
Students at the Beaumont Central Medical Magnet High School put on the show. Their team went on to defeat the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School 44-28 on Saturday.
In…Texas? I have no illusions of the state going blue this year but wow.

Candidates never, ever campaign on election day. They vote at their “home” precinct for the TV cameras and then go into seclusion to watch the returns, until it’s time for them to make their victory/concession speech.
So if those reports are true, then Willard is REALLY in trouble.

OK, we might need to start up a bail fund for real because I know somebody is gonna haul off and punch one of these GOP poll watchers for the bitchassness…and I’m mad the Dem poll watcher capitulated to this stupid. Should have told them to F OFF.
_______________________________________
Kelley’s challenges aren’t the only ones Tampa voters needed to worry about during the early voting period. Last Friday and Saturday, the last two official days of early voting, black voters and NAACP members were upset when Republican poll watchers challenged NAACP members for passing out water and offering chairs to voters standing in long lines in the hot sun.
Black voters have been turning out in record numbers not only in Tampa, but throughout the state. There are reports of people standing in line up to seven hours, many of them elderly and disabled—and at one Orlando site there was a bomb scare.
So NAACP members have been passing out water to help people deal with the heat. A Republican poll watcher reported this activity at the C. Blythe Andrews Jr. polling site in Tampa, a predominantly African American district, and had the poll clerk stop the water distribution. According to NAACP political action chair Yvette Lewis, the Republican poll watcher accused the teams of bribing voters with the water, much like a challenge filed by a Republican poll watcher Sunday when helpers passed out fried fish.
Lewis said the water ban was made possible by a poll watcher assigned by the Democratic Party (all poll watchers are assigned by the political parties) who capitulated to the Republican poll watcher’s demands, in an effort to “pick and choose their battles.”
That is some bull shit. Shame on that dem. What next, people dying in line waiting to vote?

Appearing on MSNBC on Monday morning, Schmidt derided the hysteria surrounding ineligible voters casting ballots:
SCHIMDT: I think that one of the things you always want to be for whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, you want everyone who is eligible to vote to vote. That’s how you want to win elections. I think that all of this stuff that has transpired over the last two years is in search of a solution to a problem, voting fraud, that doesn’t really exist when you look deeply at the question. It’s part of the mythology now in the Republican Party that there’s widespread voter fraud across the country. In fact, there’s not. Both sides are lawyered up to the nth degree and they’ll all posture back and forth on it but it probably won’t come down to lawyers.

I LOVE Mayor Kasim Reed. He just gave a soft-spoken knife to the Romney campaign. He said they’re running a confidence game and said the data show that the President is winning all battleground states except North Carolina and that the President is winning.
— –Milt Campbell, an outstanding all-around athlete who was the first African-American to become an Olympic decathlon champion, died on Friday at his home in Gainesville, Ga. He was 78.
The cause was prostate cancer, said his companion, Linda Rusch.
Campbell, who won the decathlon at the 1956 Summer Olympics and had also played football professionally, sometimes expressed frustration that he was less well known than the four other Americans who became Olympic decathlon champions from 1948 to 1976: Bob Mathias (twice), Rafer Johnson, Bill Toomey and Bruce Jenner.
Each of those four was acclaimed the world’s greatest athlete and received endorsement contracts and acting roles. Mathias became a five-term congressman, Johnson a confidant of the Kennedy family. Campbell, in contrast, remained relatively unknown.
— – -SNIP- – — The Olympic filmmaker Bud Greenspan once said, “Campbell was, to me, the greatest athlete who ever lived.”

—– -June 12, 2012: Today’s special edition of The Morning Swim Show features a look at International Swimming Hall of Fame Gold Medallion recipient Milt Campbell. Campbell was most known for his against-all-odds gold medal in the decathlon at the 1956 Olympics, but he grew up around pools, finding much success as a competitive swimmer in an era where blacks were not very prominent in the sport. In his acceptance speech, Campbell relives some of his proudest swimming moments, and concludes with a recent story of triumph over adversity. – –
- — A new impreMedia/Latino Decisions tracking poll, the last one of 11 weeks of tracking Latino voters, finds President Obama is expected to win a record share of the Latino vote, especially in key battleground states.
“With 11 weeks of tracking, we are headed towards a record level of Latino votes for a Democratic presidential candidate,” stated Matt Barreto, principal investigator for Latino Decisions. “If Latinos turnout at the high rates we are expecting, they could deliver Nevada, Colorado, Florida and Virginia to Obama,” Barreto says.
The poll finds 73 percent of likely Latino voters say they plan to vote for Obama, compared to 24 percent for Mitt Romney; 3 percent are undecided. If Obama wins 73 percent or higher of the Latino vote, says Barreto, this would be higher than the 72 percent obtained by Bill Clinton in his 1996 landslide re-election and the highest total among Latino voters for a Democratic presidential candidate.
- –In the poll, 55 percent of Latino voters are more enthusiastic about voting in 2012 than in 2008, with 22 percent saying they were more enthusiastic in 2008. Seventy-four percent of likely Latino voters say they are “very enthusiastic” about tomorrow’s election.
“Voter enthusiasm in this election has increased significantly, which is extremely encouraging,” said Monica Lozano, CEO of impreMedia. “All indications are that Latinos are motivated and will turn out in record numbers, proving once again that this electorate is critical for any national candidate to win.” Sixteen percent of Latinos have voted early, the poll finds.

Oh no GN, we’re only supposed to remember the FIRST debate! You know…the one where if you stuck a gun to anybody’s head who watched and asked them to repeat one line from that night they would start crying hysterically.
I know everyone was watching Black Girls Rock and that Seal Team 6 movie, but did anyone catch the ratchetness that is “The First Family” that aired on what I guess is the CW network? Shutting the Gates Over Fears of Election Unrest
By MANNY FERNANDEZ
A gated community near Atlanta has decided to step up security this week. The reason is not burglaries, but another issue entirely: the presidential election.
In Woodstock, Ga., about 30 miles north of Atlanta, the president of a homeowners’ association sent an e-mail on Sunday informing residents that the entrance gates would be closed 24 hours a day beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, out of concern over possible civil unrest after the election.
“I feel it is better to take a position of caution to enhance controlled access to the community until we see what (if any) negative repercussions may occur because of the results of the election,” wrote Bill Stanley, the president of the homeowners’ association at the Cottages of Woodstock, a residential community for people 55 and over.

Black voters cast more than one-third of 1.9 million early Georgia ballots
9:06 am November 5, 2012, by jgalloway
Updated at 1:35 p.m.: Nearly 1.9 million votes have already been cast in Tuesday’s general election in Georgia — 35 percent of all those registered, according to figures released this morning by Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
But if you calculate a 70 percent turnout rate by 7 p.m. Tuesday, the number of early votes would tally more than half. (Turnout was 75 percent in 2008.)
Early voting in Georgia concluded on Friday. The most surprising number: Without an overt campaign in this state on behalf of President Barack Obama, African-American turnout for early voting matched the 2008 rate, at 34 percent of all advanced ballots cast.
I bet this is happening in more places than we think.

President Barack Obama speaks to supporters during a campaign event near the State Capitol Building in Madison, Wis., Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. An estimated 18,000 people turned out to see Obama and Bruce Springsteen, who introduced the president.
Democratic officials in Arizona asked federal and state authorities late Sunday to investigate robocalls from Republican Jeff Flake’s Senate campaign that told registered Democrats to vote at the wrong polling locations.
Brahm Resnik of Phoenix television station KPNX first reported on the calls on Sunday, interviewing a Democrat named Mary Crecco and at least six other Democratic voters who received them. Crecco said she believed she was purposefully told to go to the wrong polling location miles away from the correct one because she is a Democrat.
But Flake’s campaign responded on Monday morning, saying it placed 120,000 robocalls this weekend targeting Republicans, not Democrats. A news release said campaign volunteers received fewer than a dozen calls questioning the information that was provided. In some cases, the statement said, adult children were registered at their parents’ address while in other cases voters had moved but had not updated their registration.
