        I’m very pro-union but I’m mad at the Chi-town teachers. They are mad over a 2% per year pay raise and teaching an extra hour or so per day, when they have the shortest teaching time in the country? Come on, son! They need to get it together.

      1) I think it came from her heart.
      2) No fake-assed “I LOVE WOMEN!” bullshit.

        I read the transcript and was tearing up. My translation of the speech was: Yes, America, we know times are still tough. But trust Barack and me, we will make it better because we understand what it’s like to scuffle. Our mamas, daddies and grandmamas and grandaddies did it for us; we did when we first started out, so we are not trying to make life worse for you; we want it better. Mittens can’t do nothing for you cause he’s a lie and never had to worry where the next meal was coming from. He will sell you out in a NY minute if he gets the chance.
        My husband will always have your back because he still the dude that lived over Harold’s Chicken Shack; he’s still the dude that got his first coffee table from the dumpster behind the furniture store. Mittens is the guy who threw out the table cause it had one scuff mark on it. Barack is the guy who rubbed the scruff out, and put some Pledge on that bad-boy and put it in his living room.

    I just can’t imagine anyone ever delivering a speech that well. Reagan, for example, always seemed somewhat phony, even in his ‘greatest’ moments. He was practiced, but hollow. Michelle was poised, but warmly emotional. It probably helps that she wrote it. The more I think about it, the more brilliant it seems.

    Was watching PBS, I was glad that I got to hear Mark Shields make the correct observation that MO took apart Romney’s and GOP’s whole Obama-Not-An-American theme without even mentioning them. That’s how great the speech was, it got me to semi-respect a member of our horrible media.

    Michelle Obama wears Tracy Reese for her convention speech

    It’s possible to get distracted from what first lady Michelle Obama is saying during her speech to the Democratic convention tonight because that dress she’s wearing is so outstanding.

    The speech brought down the house, the pundits said. The dress may have helped.

    Custom-designed by Tracy Reese, it’s rosy pink and grey, in a silky, shiny toile sort of material, and sleeveless, of course, with a full skirt and pink pumps to finish it off. No jewelry except for her wedding rings, her hair loose and even a little flyaway.

    “So honored,” Reese tweeted minutes after Mrs. Obama appeared on stage.

    The chatter from other tweeters was admiring, especially of those buff arms of hers.

    “Beautiful!” tweeted designer L’Wren Scott (and Mick Jagger girlfriend) about the Reese dress.
