  • edp4bho

I am so crying like a baby right now, you all. I don’t know what to do or what to say, or what to believe anymore, and I’ve been around a while. I hate this fuckin country, I hate the racists who are in jubilation, I hate the pig that killed Trayvon. I really need God to explain to me why I should continue to pray to him anymore. After Troy Davis, I need to leave before I lose my sanity. I so need help right now.

    • CamilleCamille

      Hey Edp4bho,

Please don’t ever let the actions of hateful men make you question God or his grace-

The deal with free-will means that we as supposedly evolved species get to make decisions and God doesn’t always get to step in to stop us – or control the situation –

But all things will as promised end up working together for the good of those who believe–

Some are born angels – no matter how flawed or imperfect – angels nevertheless – and their lives are meant as testimony to be used for the greater good–

No matter how hard it gets – and it does get really hard – we’ve got to believe, trust and hold on.

There is a God and he isn’t always dealing as we humans would have him – with all our very limited and myopic sense of humanity and being-

His crime? Walking while black through George Zimmerman’s neighborhood.

The penalty for this act in the State of Florida? Murder by vigilante.

Boycott like that state never existed. Ya don’t need to go to Dizzy World, dammit. For what? To see Snow White and Mickey? Give it up, black people. Teach your children who they are. Walt Disney never had us in mind when he dreamed it, as like America when they stole the land and made a government for “themselves”. When will we learn ? We ain’t got nobody but us- never had and never will have. Everything else is just window dressing. We are the peaceful, forgiving ones, and need to remember how we survived this long. Fuck white America. There, I got my old-school militancy out my system for one night. I will go to bed with tears for that baby and his momma and daddy and brother, and hatred for the pig that only God can change, if He wills it.
Can you tell I”m a passionate person?

    • rigoletta

This shit is going to radicalize folk. Not the riots idiots out there were talking about but the kind of action that has been lacking in the last 40 years.

The last few weeks have been unbelievably brutal but I believe as always we will prevail.

      • edp4bho

We have been sorely lacking in progressive action to be respected. We have so many who got too comfortable, or who were never taught what true struggle was all about. It wasn’t about what we see everyday- that’s too simple. Economic, cultural education- these are what’s needed. And my God, we need to stop glorifying and patronizing anyone who is not in our corner. Do- for- self was more than a motto. I agree with all you’ve said.

        • rigoletta

I agree and those who got fat and happy (CBC, NAACP, etc…) are going to learn now.

If you aren’t with us, educating and fighting then you are of no use and that applies to black people and organizations too.

      • CamilleCamille

“–this shit is going to radicalize folk–”

        I sure hope it does;

        It’s been long overdue–

    • Alma98

Now maybe people who always ask why I hate my place of birth will finally understand. When we would go back for visits we were told about places we could go and could not go, nothing has changed.
The sad truth is a lot of our people don’t tell their kids about this country. I’ve seen it up close they have bought into the blacks are lazy, stupid and no good. I’m talking about the Thomas’s and the keeping real folks. The people who think poc are supposed to be uneducated, jobless and worthless. I have never felt patriotic towards this country, I’ve always felt like an outsider.

    • trose1

Wasn’t Walt Disney a known racist? I could be wrong.

      • edp4bho

He white, ain’t he? (sorry but I ain’t too philanthropic right now towards white folk).

      • 7thangel

    • trose1
      • edp4bho

Supposed to be going to bed, but thanks, trose, for this. It’s so educational but somehow, in today’s generation, sadly, our kids won’t take much stock in it. They need a lot of help in being unindoctrinated to believe in their own supposed inferiority. I know I’m generalizing but I have many nephews and nieces who don’t see what I try to show them. I taught my son differently, to see what’s really there. We still have a lot of work to do, as PBO says often.

I’ve had this weird feeling in my chest and tears in my eyes since the verdict was announced. I need to stay away from the news and social media for awhile because I am just…I can’t even describe how I feel. Praying for the Martin family, our children and our people in these strange times.

  • conlakappa

The defense used language cribbed from the Simi Valley jury, knowing just the buttons to push. The only thing missing from this messy drama is that the jurors will say those things then speak to a scintilla of remorse once they hear what was left out. Sad.

    • CamilleCamille

I think the jurors did exactly what they would have done even if they had all that information that was supposedly withheld.

These white women – mothers, were incapable of the humanity necessary to see Trayvon Martin as the innocent child he was–

As usual, this black kid did not elicit the simplest of humanity or maternal feelings even a mass murdering white kid who’s been sympathetically presented by the media, very easily elicits —

Adam Lanza etc. Who were all much older than Trayvon and who all perpetrated the most horrendous and deadly crimes against humanity, all got infinitely more sympathetic and humane treatment than a murdered innocent black kid — from the media and Americans as a whole..

Nobody raged at them – not even the families of the victims–

Everyone just wondered what made the “nice” kids do such bad things–

Was it their medication, the pressure of their parents divorce-?

And then we have a crazy black woman call in to admonish black people to “get their act together” and stop “giving white people the excuse to kill them by behaving badly”–

You can’t make this stuff up if you tried–

      • edp4bho

So we have a crazy black woman actually, and she doesn’t realize it, defending white folks by saying they know how to act, but we behave badly. Somebody put her out of her misery, post haste !

      • conlakappa

I wrote about speaking to a scintilla of remorse, nothing about them behaving any differently. The world will know who they are and they have to live with themselves, however secure in the decision they are.

A racist piece of trash killed him.
And a jury has set this murderer free.

    Post racial America my ass.

    • CamilleCamille

Let’s be clear, this was not a man, this was a child. A teenager. A minor.

That is a very important distinction that cannot be overstated.

Adam Lanza who murdered 26 people in cold blood, at age 23 was still being treated as if he were a child with all the excuses and sympathetic understanding that brought with it.

Trayvon Martin was a kid. An unarmed kid.

  • jziglar

So how long before the beltway press asks for the president’s reaction to the verdict ? A day or two ?

I’m sure the emo blacks will demand that the president address it through a speech.

    • Worldwatcher7

Perhaps we can pre-empt them by tweeting all of the reasons this is a bad idea right now.

    • Miranda

Hell, they’re doing it now on twitter. Not even 10 minutes had passed.

      • Worldwatcher7

Their knee-jerk reflexes are lightning quick

      • nathkatun7

They are nothing but arm-chair freedom fighters. Somebody should tell these fools that Rosa Parks, Dr. King, Students who staged Sit-ins and Freedom-Rides, and engaged in voter registration, did not look to any president to fight for things they themselves knew they should be fighting for. When Huey Newton and Bobby Seale were tired of police brutality in Oakland, CA, They went ahead and formed the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. I am sick and tired of educated fools in our community who have bought into the myths that Lincoln freed the slaves with a stroke of pen; and Kennedy and LBJ lead the Civil Rights movement. At least Barack Obama mobilized us to elect him President. What exactly are people bashing him at every turn doing on behalf of our besieged people! As far as I am concerned, Black folks who are constantly bashing President Obama are using at as an excuse to do nothing themselves. I refuse to listen to people who think whining is the same as pitching in to change the system. Racism existed before President Obama. His election has intensified and brought it up in the open. Instead of defending the President, who is equally besieged by racist attacks that have, at every turn, tried to destroy him, they instead enable those racists by thinking that somehow the Black President can magically erase over five centuries of Black oppression and white denial of our humanity. Never mind the fact that Republicans are openly showing us that they don’t consider him a legitimate President because he is black. Are these idiots blind and heard of hearing?

I am sorry, but I am sick and tired of Blacks who are constantly bashing the President. I am especially sick of those in Academia, who are supposedly learned, but then go out and act like educated fools.

    • Alma98

And I hope he doesn’t answer jack shit! It’s not his job or ours to fix racism in this country. It’s a white folks problem, if we could eradicate racism it would have been gone more than a hundred years ago. The truth is white people on the left & the right have always been comfortable with racism in this country. Yeah yeah I know whites marched blah blah blah. But as soon as they thought hey we did it, they went back home and did what? The fight for equality & justice is never ending but when it doesn’t affect you daily you don’t think about it.

    • Kennymack1971

I’m so over these AA pundits making every single issue about the President and what he needs to do/say. Give it a damn rest.

Dylan Chambers, son of music icon Lester Chambers, has just posted (6 pm PST on Facebook, Saturday, July 13, 2013:

“Dylan Here…. Lester was just assaulted on stage at The Russell City Hayward Blues Festival by a crazed woman after dad dedicated ‘People Get Ready’ to Trayvon Martin. He is on the way to the hospital now.”

Lester Chambers, founding member of popular 1960s recording artists, The Chambers Brothers, was on stage at The Russell City Hayward Blues Festivaltonight when his son said the attack occurred. It is indeed disturbing news for the 73-year-old singer, who just yesterday announced on hisFacebook page, he’d completed the last hurdle prior to releasing his first album in over 40 years.

And as I drove home still, the news comes on the radio–

The news guy reads off about the not guilty verdict in Trayvon Martin’s murder, then quickly moves on excitedly to how the world is awaiting the birth of William and Kate Middleton’s baby-

He talks of the plans the U.K and most Commonwealth nations have lined up to celebrate this child and how it is expected that $30 million dollars worth of champagne will be purchased to mark and toast the birth of this kid —

It then occurred to me that many of the same people who mocked and raged at the dead black kid and cheered on and fundraised for the murderer George Zimmerman, and cheered his acquittal tonight — many of these same people are among those waiting to celebrate Kate Middleton’s child.

A child who if all goes well, will be born with 2 arms, 2 legs, one nose, one mouth one head, just like Trayvon Martin was barely 17 plus years ago–

The only difference is that this kid unlike Trayvon Martin, will be born white and by some warped and twisted human set-up that has no bearing in anything logical – not hard work, not ability, not genetic or intellectual or physical superiority – absolutely nothing —

This kid will be automatically deemed “royal” and immediately entitled to everything Trayvon Martin could never ever even begin to dream of–

She/He like her Uncle Harry, will never ever have to live in fear of his/her life no matter what. Even if they provoke confrontation, they’ll never be stalked and haunted down and left to die on a residential street even worse than an animal–

Even animals are mourned and get more humane response when they are attacked– more than this black kid was afforded–

But in the end, Kate Middleton’s child’s entry into the world will be heralded for some weird reason —

Complete strangers will toast her birth — probably the exact same strangers who cheered the death of an innocent black kid — and insisted that his life was worthless—

How unfair and insane and warped this world we live in—

It’s after midnight here & I can’t sleep. I’m still so upset. I should have known how this would all go but I held to faith & hope that the jury would truly weigh the evidence. Instead they let their racism speak.

Dios give us a brief rest & grant us the strength to keep on keeping on because the battle has just begun.

    • ranger11

I live in Florida and I’m white and this has me like a gut-punch. How can people support this Zimmerman guy? He’s an emotionless jerk. Maybe some effective organization can take place against the governor and the legislature. These laws are insane. Florida strikes again unfortunately.

  • nathkatun7

Today, justice under Florida laws said that it is perfectly legal to lynch
an innocent seventeen-years-old boy. Lets be clear! These so called “Stand your Ground laws” are nothing, but modern-day legal licenses to lynch people, mainly African Americans. Just as the “Slave Codes” that gave permission to any white person to kill a slave deemed to be a threat to the white community were repaved by the”Black Codes” following emancipation of slaves. The post-emancipation “Black codes” disarmed former slaves while arming to the-the-teath white people who terrorized former slaves to force them back in conditions similar to slavery. The “Black Codes” were in turn replaced by the old extralegal “Lynch law” that terrorized Black people since the end of Reconstruction- the period that W.E.B. DuBois called the “Mystic years,” because for a period of at least 10 years it appeared as if true Democracy, based on human equality was about to take shape in America. The extralegal “Lynch Law” is now being replaced by “Stand you Ground Laws,” which have given white racist to go out and shoot people, especially Black and Brown people, with impunity.

I repeat, Trayvon Martin was lynched. The man who lynched him was allowed to go free.

We must pray for Trayvon mother and father and the entire for them to find strength to deal with the double devastation of losing a child and the to see the system treat his murderer as the victim while their son — the real victim–was treated as criminal. We must pray for all the Black and Brown families whose children– and especially the you boys–who are now going to open hunting season from racists licensed to lynch with impunity. But we must also resolve to fight back against these laws and the people making them, just as the people
before us fought back against the injustices to get us where we are. This will be the best way to honor the memory of Trayvon Martin. This is no time to despair!

    • Aquagranny911
