    I watched the debate with my mom who is visiting from North Carolina. 82 years young! I said to her the President saved the best for last with the 47% commentary at the end. No time for Mitt to respond. She game me a “terrorist fist bump.”

        Hey GLH:

        My mom is a hoot. She told me a story tonight about “old man Phillips. lol.

        My mom lives in a rural area of North Carolina. “Old man Phillips”, who is her age, runs the only country store on the road. Well, all year “Old man Phillips” has had Republican signs in front of the store. Okay.

        Well, about two weeks ago, she drove past the store and noticed that “Old man Phillips” had an Obama sign in front of his country store. She figured, but didn’t ask or care, that the Medicare thing scared him! This is the “bad” part of North Carolina.

        I have no doubt that we will win this election!

    Rats Leaving The Sinking Ship — Conservative Radio Still Shedding Advertisers

    At the New Media Seminar held last week in Los Angeles, Norm Pattiz, CEO of Courtside Entertainment, had some harsh words for conservative talk radio hosts nationwide:

    Those who do not adapt will be swallowed up.

    The cause for such a dire remark? The continuing fleeing of national advertisers from the right-wing radio spectrum. And he said this in front of a large crowd including notable conservative hosts.

    What has happened without the major backers having realized it is that the new era of social media has rendered the marketing advantage of these right-wing hosts moot. Now advertisers can no longer sit securely thinking that only the hosts audience would pay attention to what was being said, and to which companies were advertising with them. Now a host says something out of line, the advertisers take a direct hit. And the strength of social media is only growing.[....]

    Mind The Binder

    Not a true story.

    What actually happened was that in 2002 — prior to the election, not even knowing yet whether it would be a Republican or Democratic administration — a bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government. There were more than 40 organizations involved with the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus (also bipartisan) as the lead sponsor.

    They did the research and put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions. They presented this binder to Governor Romney when he was elected.

    I have written about this before, in various contexts; tonight I’ve checked with several people directly involved in the MassGAP effort who confirm that this history as I’ve just presented it is correct — and that Romney’s claim tonight, that he asked for such a study, is false.

    I will write more about this later, but for tonight let me just make a few quick additional points.

    – — -I enjoyed it when Mitt Romney asked the president if he was really totally seriously for-real trying to say that he called the Benghazi attacks “acts of terror” in the Rose Garden the day after they occurred. And Obama was like, “Proceed, Governor, proceed with your waddle into the threshing blades.” And then Candy Crowley was all like, “Nah-ah, Romney, he so did too call them terrorists.” And Romney was like “Wuh, wuh? Well, then, let me politicize those people’s deaths a little more just to make the president’s point that I’m offensive.” By which point, Romney had created another immortal moment in debate history.

      I am with you GLH! Basically, the President said to Mitt Romney: “Go ahead and make a fool of yourself!” I am absolutely sure that the President knew that his remarks to the Libyan embassy killings were recorded. Candy Crowley also knew that. That is why she tried so hard to save Romney by fact checking him, but at the same time tried to offer him an out by all the gibberish she uttered after she acknowledged what the President said.
