Why does this whole scenario remind me of the Astro-Nut case where the astronaut jumpoff lady drove 800 miles in Depends to stop the man involved from getting back with his wife!
This sounds like that but less dramatical. Broadwell was prolly sniffing around in Petraeus’ e-mail to see if there’s another side-piece and the 2nd woman just called the FBI to let it be known that a civilian is all in Petraeus’ email and said “ain’t that a national security risk?” That way, she can keep her anonymity and expose Broadwell and stop her from running around with Petraeus.
I’m think Petraeus had been an adulterer for years in the military, but since he’s a general, he wouldn’t be exposed. Now that he’s in the CIA and folks were leaking stuff about Benghazi, other CIA people were mad, they prolly looked him up and said “You’ve got to go, pal.”
qosine
Bingo. You know, the first time I saw him with his wife, they didn’t look like they were “together.” I knew they were married for a long time, but, he seemed to be separate from her.
JojoRaze
His wife isn’t conventionally attractive. Their body language was off. They look like they are living two completely separate lives. The wife is still gonna work for the administration in January in the cfpb wing of the military. She prolly knows he’s a cheater, which is why she hasn’t said anything. Petraeus prolly went home last night and the only thing Holly said to him was “I thought you’d be more discreet” and kept it moving eating dinner and reading her kindle.
conlakappa
From what I read in the WashPost article, he was usually the one who had done all the travel in the marriage now suddenly her job requires her to take frequent trips.

Ryan Lost His Hometown Badly
Even though Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) won re-election at the same time he was on the national ticket, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel notes he was crushed in his hometown of Janesville, WI by challenger Rob Zerban (D), 55% to 44%. Ryan had never lost Janesville in a re-election campaign before.

Koch-Backed Group Warns Chris Christie
—By Andy Kroll | Fri Nov. 9, 2012 10:30 AM PST
[...]The New Jersey Legislature passed a bill on October 18 creating a state-based online health insurance marketplace; it did so because under Obamacare a state must either create its own insurance marketplace or let the federal government do it. Christie vetoed a similar state-based insurance exchange bill in May, but he said last month he wouldn’t decide what to do about the new bill until after Election Day.
Enter the New Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the Koch-backed conservative grassroots group. AFP-New Jersey is pressuring Christie to reject the state exchange bill and rebuff Obamacare’s requirements before November 16, the date by which states must submit its health insurance plans to the federal government. Here’s what AFP-New Jersey Steve Lonegan had to say about Christie in a press release zapped out two days after the election:
[...]Other conservative governors across the country like Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, Scott Walker, and others have already taken a principled stand. Where is Governor Christie? Will he stand with them? Will he prevent New Jerseyans from having their health care choices controlled by federal bureaucrats? Will he allow our state’s struggling businesses to be hammered by Obamacare’s tax penalties with unemployment hovering around 10 percent? Or will he continue to go along to get along with Barack Obama?
Go along to get along? How street of him! My work plans have me in NJ on Friday, November 16. I hope Attentionsie waits until the 11th hour to announce his plans.
BoomerGal
Here we go with that STATE shit again! I DO NOT LIKE THEM PEOPLE!!!! DAMN!!!!!

Why should Christie be scared of the Koch Brothers in a Blue state like Jersey when they couldn’t even defeat PBO nationally?
conlakappa
Um, or in Maryland? We’re reliably blue yanno.
qosine
Obamcare is the law of the land. It will not be repealed. Christie, I’m sure, knows that once the extra fed funding for indigent hospital care ends, Medicaid is essential. Koch Bros. still don’t understand PBO’s observation: “What the cynics fail to understand, is that the ground has shifted beneath their feet.”

Black people have been getting clowned, dismissed, shamed, and derided by the right AND LEFT since at least 2009. Gonna change in term two…every bloc save black voters were credited for PBO’s win. I think that people are rapidly losing patience with a party which takes that for granted.

Lawd they are mad y’all. I was out today doing some Christmas shopping. The young black woman that waited on me was all smiles. She said today is a great day even though it was cloudy and cold as hell this morning. I replied hell this has been a good week we both giggled like school girls. Next to us were a couple of white men going on and on about the economy and the president. They were mad and all we could do was give each other that look while laughing. You know what look I am talking about. LOL I love our people!

Same thing happened tome and my daughter in Joann’s fabric a little while ago. They mad as hell lol!

I was just in Safeway and have an Obama/Biden button on my coat. A white man who looked to be somewhere in his 40s walked up and said, “Ma’am, I like your button!” I said thanks and he said, “We did a very good thing on Tuesday.” I agreed and said we seem to be still doing good, thinking of the races not yet called. He agreed and said it was good talking.
Alma98
The woman in Joann’s was beyond pissed she was so nasty. My daughter and I just smiled at the cashier who said under her breath lawd, lawd, lawd lol. I really hope we win those races I’m still smiling from Tuesday night, I can’t help it.

I also saw the one of the Miffed supporters on my street. I told you all about her: white woman with 5 kids whose teenaged daughters all got pregnant in high school and a son who had county services. Her face looked pinched.

I remember how they acted when Bush won in 2004. They like to dish it out but can’t take it when it’s the other way round. You’d think they would love PBO getting reelected, sounds like they need all the help they can get.

I look at those pics, and just sigh and they bring a smile to my face.
I can’t even fathom what’s in the hearts of people who don’t smile to see such a beautiful representation of AMERICA to the rest of the world.

I was thinking about that Indian diplomat whose daughter asked that he take a photo of the First Lady. It is nice to have a President who is appreciated the world over.
JojoRaze
Why I loved that too was that many Indians are color struck. And the fact that Indian girl wanted a picture of FLOTUS just showed that yes, Indira, black is beautiful…whether it’s Africa black or Indian black.
conlakappa
True. I think of someone from their sister-nation in face-whitening creams: one of the Dominican hairdressers looks similar to the First Lady and was sporting a hairstyle like her. I started calling her Michelle and La First Lady and she didn’t look like she wanted to slap me or tell me she was Spanish. She just blushed and smiled every time I saw her.

Afternoon, Tafr:
Although it appears we are divided and self-hating (e.g. black-on-black violence; crabs-in-a-barrel mentality; the man’s ice is colder), there are many, many, many things in our culture that survived slavery and possibly the Middle Passage.
The unique ability we have to communicate non-verbally with each other by a glance, nod or in silence symbolizes this survival. In addition to being overjoyed and thankful about the re-election of President Obama, I am equally moved by the ways that black folk connected with each other during this election. No, there weren’t 30+ million people on blogs or in chat rooms, on the radio or TV making a plan. But just a surely as drums sent messages that were heard miles and miles away, the silent communique that spread via visions, dreams and glances; the hushed conversations that told of shock and anger over the mistreatment of President Obama and his family; and the constant prayerful watchfulness and pride that black folk have engaged in since January 2008, was displayed in this voting season in a glory, determination and resoluteness that has not been witnessed on this scale since the Civil Rights era, in my opinion. We would NOT be moved – and we held others up when they wanted to let go.
I love being black in America. Yeah, it’s rough; and yeah, we can act the zip damned fool and be an unadulterated hot-ass, wet mess; but I wouldn’t be any race for all the money in the world.
rikyrah

your whole post was beautiful, sag.

Black folk have watched as they’ve never watched before.
People who never gave a crap about politics, have watched how this President AND HIS ENTIRE FAMILY have been disrespected.
they pretend that we lived on Mars during the time of the other 43 White Presidents of this country, instead of being right here, since 1619.
we know this country, in and out.
Just because we didn’t protest in the streets at all the disrespect that was shown, doesn’t mean we didn’t notice EVERYTHING.
These mofos actually thought that Black folks, upon seeing how they deliberately, were trying to disenfranchise FIVE MILLION AMERICANS..
were just gonna sit in a corner and go ‘ OK’.
fuck that.
We had a MSM which turned a blind eye to it, and for the most part, outside of a handful of folks, and we can all name them…..
were fucking silent on a political party’s deliberate attempt in the TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY to STRIP THE RIGHT TO VOTE FROM FIVE MILLION AMERICANS.
They were as complicit as the muthafuckas who thought they would take our right to vote and that we wouldn’t say anything or fight back.
2008 was for history.

Hillaryland is a messy, vindictive, petty place with a lot of bitter, short-sighted, endless grudge-holding bunch and I can’t wait till they are all gone.
They have consistently and actively undermined and sabotaged this President not realizing how much harm they indirectly do to Hillary.
Camille
Yeah right — And the pope is really a woman who flies around on a broom.
Like President Obama doesn’t have enough smart, qualified, loyal supporters who have earned that spot–
Like the President would ever again consider a barely average lout like Jon Huntsman who he tapped as ambassador to China in the spirit of bipartisanship, but who up and quit barely two years in to run against him because he bought into his own hype and fell for the tripe pushed by hate-filled PUMA idiots like Lynn de Rothschild.
I do notice that the Huntsman girl that flunks for Arianna Huffington has gone from trashing President Obama to effusively singing his praises lately.
And it can’t just all be because they hate the Romneys for denying their papa – the other great white hype – what they too imagined was all his for the asking.
They can save it, cause it ain’t gonna happen.
Jon Huntsman and his lazy, phony arse will just have to work and earn any sort of relevance all by his lonesome.

Karl Rove Under Fire
Politico: “The face of the historic $1-billion plan to unseat President Obama and turn the Senate Republican, Karl Rove now finds himself the leading scapegoat for its failure. And he’s scrambling to protect his status as a top GOP money man by convincing disappointed donors to his Crossroads groups that he did the best he could with their $300 million.”
My Sis is convinced Rove thought he had Ohio bought but it all fell out at the end. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway. PBO could have lost both Ohio & Florida and still won the EV. Once CO came through it was all over.

Yes, it is true. I volunteer for OFA Ohio and we definately believe Husted was on the payroll to delivery the Buckeye state to Ohio ala 2004′ s Ken Blackwell’s gift wrapped delivery for “Bush”. The Dems are finally catching tocsin to circumvent this robbery of democracy.

He was being watched and PBO had 600 lawyers on the ground watching Ohio, iirc on NPR. They were being watched and as rikyrah said, the riggers didn’t want to go to jail off of some rigging scheme and no one had the nerve to tell Karl Rove that the plan wasn’t going according to schedule.

Is it technically a scapegoat when one is responsible for performing the greatest political flimflam?
— —-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Saturday that Arizona must work faster to count 525,000 outstanding votes.
In all, 1.8 million votes were cast in the state. Reid said he is concerned that nearly one-third of Arizona’s votes — including 350,000 from Maricopa County, which is home to Phoenix — remain unaccounted for.
“All of the votes in Arizona must be counted promptly, accurately and equally. The uncounted votes in Maricopa County alone represent a major portion of the total votes cast in Arizona on Tuesday,” Reid said in a statement.
Reid alluded to potential abuse of minority voters.
In his comments, Reid mentioned that the Supreme Court would consider a challenge to the Voting Rights Act, which protects minority voters. Specifically, the court will deliberate a portion of the law that makes states with a history of discrimination get federal approval before changing voting laws.
“In light of the Supreme Court’s decision to hear challenges to the Voting Rights Act, we are reminded that the right to vote is the foundation of our democracy. That right is not secure when some votes are counted while others are suppressed or ignored. I expect state and local officials in Arizona to ensure that every vote is counted promptly, accurately and equally,” Reid said.

Weren’t there some missing ballots in AZ?
Aquagranny911
Cochise county but they are “found” now being counted. I think most of their votes will go for Ron Barber who is up 320 votes last I read & there are still 60,000 votes uncounted in Pima county but his district only covers part of that county.
I am staying positive on this one. Also there has been so much attention paid to our mess here that we have lots of observers.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Maricopa county which still has over 300,000 ballots left to count. It’s pretty much a Repub stronghold but we will see. A lot of those ballots came from minority precincts.

Just some happy reminders from this election:
1. The President won DESPITE WALL STREET.
they gave their money to Willard, and the President doesn’t owe them SHYT.
2. The Senatorial candidate that Wall Street hated with the heat of 10,000 suns, because she has their number and won’t tapdance for them…

4. The Democrats have supermajorities in both houses in California.

The Rev. Al Sharpton’s Electronic Bully Pulpit
by Allison Samuels Nov 9, 2012 4:45 AM EST
[...]“Sharpton says things we can’t always say,” said a member of Obama’s inner circle. “Sharpton can talk about issues relating to race in a way the White House just can’t. Sharpton understands that well, and we appreciate it.”
While MSNBC showcases a slew of reporters, contributors and anchors with strong liberal views, Sharpton offered a level of authenticity with his keen understanding of both race and politics that hadn’t been seen before on cable news. His on-air presence quickly attracted a large number of minority viewers, and Politics Nation now ranks as the network’s No. 1 show watched by African Americans. According to a recent Neilsen ratings report, Politics Nations also surpassed the ratings of its CNN competitor John King’s USA by more than 200,000 viewers.
[...]Sharpton says he’ll continue to use his MSNBC spot, radio show and organization to bring the spotlight to stories and issues that don’t always make the mainstream news cycle’s Top 10. Next on his list: the economy.
“We’re going to keep putting pressure on the Senate and the Congress to get those tax cuts for the rich stopped and tax cuts for the middle class restored,” he says. We’re focused on getting the country back on track and for everyone to have a fair chance.”

I think she does. But she doesn’t like it. She has to be above it all, arch, knowing. She’s called PBO “Bambi,” “The One,” and led by the real agents of real change (the kind SHE likes). I’ve always thought she’s really cloistered, kind of a Ayn Rand type.
conlakappa
I’m pretty sure it was she who coined the term Obambi back during the 2008 primaries. Yet another who underestimated the black man. I always thought the President looks like the black guy she hooked up with in college who never called her back. The anger and derision she directs at him seem way too personal to not be personal for her. She needs to chill already. Acid only hurts the container that carries it.

Always thought she was stupid for Obambi.

– - –<i>New York Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) has made it clear that he doesn’t accept the parameters of Republican leadership’s idea that revenue can be raised by further lowering top income tax rates. In October, he said Congress “ought to scrap” any such plan, and yesterday, he decried the GOP’s “Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale” that cutting tax rates could drive new revenues through dynamic scoring.
The New York Times, however, reported today that Schumer had indicated a willingness to consider a tax plan that keeps the top tax rate at 35 percent, the point it reached after the Bush tax cuts:
– - -SNIP – –
– –Schumer’s full quote, however, doesn’t seem to make that same suggestion. After Schumer told reporters that it was “counter-intuitive” to think substantial revenue could be raised by lowering tax rates, as Republicans have suggested, he was asked about maintaining current rates. Though he conceded that there may be compromise, he didn’t indicate that he would accept such a deal and restated his belief that the election was a clear mandate for raising the high-income rate to Clinton-era levels:

The nation’s most populous state – home to 1 in 8 Americans – has entered a period of Democratic political control so far-reaching that the dwindling number of Republicans in the Legislature are in danger of becoming mere spectators at the statehouse. – - -HAH!! — LOL
Democrats hold the governorship and every other statewide office. They gained even more ground in Tuesday’s elections, picking up at least three congressional seats while votes continue to be counted in two other tight races – in one upset, Democrat Raul Ruiz, a Harvard-educated physician who mobilized a district’s growing swath of Hispanic voters, pushed out longtime Republican Rep. Republican voter registration has dipped so low – less than 30 percent – that the party’s future state candidates will be hobbled from the start.

November 10 marks the 237th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps was founded in 1775 to serve as an infantry unit aboard naval vessels during the Revolutionary War. Marines were responsible for the security of the ship and conducted offensive and defensive measures during boarding actions to that end. Marines in the Continental Army also manned raiding parties.
Marines have served in every American armed conflict and the branch is renowned for its skill at amphibious warfare.
The Marines currently have about 200,000 active duty Marines and around 40,000 reserves. The Corps is the third-oldest uniformed service in America, as the Army and Navy were founded months earlier in 1775.

Okay, I’ve been reading this blog archive, and I’ve never seen such a hateful bunch of people in my life. Most of the “professional left” you like to attack are only asking that Obama makes good on his promises.
Yes, some go too far, and I can see a need for “pragmatic” sites to rebut the most extreme. But this site is a complete overreaction to that need. All you guys seem to do is scour the internet looking to attack anyone who says an unkind word about the president no matter how small the criticism.
From my perspective, this site is nothing more than a bunch of lonely, middle-aged black woman living vicariously through Obama like he’s your boyfriend. He’s NOT your boyfriend. He’s the president of everyone, even those who criticize him. The sooner you realize this the better.
But I’ve seen some of you claim that when Obama is no longer president you’re not going to support anymore democrats. So you only care about this country as long as Obama is the president of it? How is this not sycophancy?

Apparently, you find us “lonely, middle-aged black women” pretty interesting, else you’d have something better to do with your time on this lovely Saturday evening. In fact, most of the women here are very happily married or involved. We just happen to be very stern in having and keeping President Obama’s back while folks like you- many of you- feel the need to address him as though he has no idea what he is doing. Is that need to criticize him so strong that you pace the net to find like company?

Hi Hater.
TyrenM
KC, this over 40 MALE has voted D every election since Bush v. Dukakis. What brought me here was watching mostly WHITE sites, some Black but mostly white, try to hold Obama to shit no white President couldn’t or wouldn’t do – including Bubba.
I have my issues with President Obama but I’ll be damned if I blame him for his accomplishments when the 60 D Senate took so long. I live in a state that kept me minus a Senator for ~4 months on bs (Franken.) I won’t blame him for having Congressmen of the same party go on TV and talk shit about him and his programs. I won’t blame him for these crackers disrespect him and the Office of the Presidency say they don’t want shit then go on TV smiling with the check in hand (See your man Kasich at RNC.) I’ll defend him against the so-called Democrats that cry about shit but don’t know how laws are passed (DADT, CFPB etc.) And I’ll defend him against all who cry on behalf of the people who lost to him (Romney, McCain…AND Clinton.)
You’ve seen all we’ve seen. President Obama has changed the game and Democrats in the future better keep up or move the fuck around.
There is more but here’s a primer from a proud POU male who’s mostly ignored you but decided to engage you tonight.
Ebogan63
You talk to fuckin’ much idiot.
morphus
The reason why the bloviators are on ‘ignore’, lack ANY credibility when attempting to critique PBO or receive blowback attempting to “make” him him keep his promises, is this, with each fantasy he “coulda/woulda/shoulda”, the bioviators fail to demonstrate understanding of the culture within Washington, D.C.
PBO said from the very beginning, “We are the ones we have been waiting for”. The unanswered question always been, how are “we” going to help him to help us.

—- – According to Paul Begala, before he passed away in 2008, Ted Kennedy gave him a tutorial on how to defeat Mitt Romney. Obama and the Dems followed Kennedy’s advice, and won.
On the second page of a story for Newsweek, Paul Begala wrote about a tutorial Ted Kennedy gave him on how to beat Romney before he died,
Our goal was to take Romney’s greatest strength—his business record—and make it a weakness. We were given a road map by none other than the late, great Ted Kennedy. As the 2008 election was approaching, I paid the senator a visit. I thought Romney might be the GOP nominee, and Kennedy gave me a tutorial on how to beat him. Don’t underestimate Romney, Kennedy said. He’s smart and resourceful and will say anything, take any position. Kennedy recounted how his campaign team tracked down employees of companies that had been shut down after being bought by Bain Capital. Shamelessly copying Kennedy’s plan, we interviewed dozens of laid-off middle-class working people. Their stories were emblematic of the collapse of the middle class: factories closed, health benefits canceled, lives ruined.
– - – -SNIP- –
Begala used Kennedy’s tutorial in his work with the woefully underfunded Priorities USA super PAC, and their results this little group got may have cost Romney the election.
Priorities USA hit Romney all summer long with devastating ads that followed the Kennedy map of featuring workers who lost their jobs because Romney’s Bain took over their company.

Some Republicans have even go so far as to suggest that Christie inadvertently helped the president win on November 6th.
“A lot of people feel like Christie hurt, that we definitely lost four or five points between the storm and Chris Christie giving Obama a chance to be bigger than life,” an anonymous Romney fundraiser told the Washington Post.
“I’m a Republican, I’ve endorsed Mitt Romney and I support him. I intend to vote for him on Tuesday,” Christie said prior to the vote. “But the fact of the matter is that if the president of the United States comes here and he is willing to help my people, and he does it, then I’m going to say nice things about him because he’s earned it.”

On top of that we got some of the worst governors & others in states locally. Look what Michigan has had to go through, as well as Wisconsin, also Ohio & Florida.

Tomorrow, off to Sioux Falls South Dakota for work until Wednesday. Either I’m moving up in the world or their out to get rid of me. Pray for me fam. Either way, no more Roc gear on Election Day.
To those who missed it, Tuesday I wore a red sweatshirt with a bright R on it. I was asked by a colleague why I wore red today of all days. She didn’t notice the black pants or green shirt under it. Nobody did. If they did they didn’t speak of it. I received several compliments even though I’ve worn this item several times this Fall.
Wednesday, I wore red, white and blue. Felt all patriotic and proud of my state and country (h/t FLOTUS.) When approached again by said colleague, I said: You know me way better than that. Through up my diamonds and said: Rocafella y’all. And walked off.
