Who told Bob Woodward he mattered? LMAO!!! Is he serious?

Bob Woodward’s Back-And-Forth With The White House Gets Even Weirder, As He Invites Obama And Others Over

As White House economic adviser Gene Sperling made the Sunday show rounds to dispel any notion of a feud between him and Bob Woodward, Woodward extended the olive branch to Sperling and President Barack Obama and invited them both to his house.

“He’s a peacemaker,” Woodward said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”

“I am in the business of listening, and I’m going to invite him over to my house if he’ll come and hopefully he’ll bring others from the White House — maybe the President himself. You know, talking really works.”

Yeah, the President is gonna just roll up to your house for tea and crumpets because you made a fool out of yourself.

Eat a dick, Bob. Nah, eat a whole plate of them.

    • JojoRaze

Ok,I’m just loling at this stage. An exemplary black man can cut white supremacy down faster than a Glock…This is so cray cray, PBO in the WH laughing saying ‘These 2520s right here.’

      • Lisa M

Ok you know I had to google ‘2520’ right. I’m so using that. LOL 2520. That’s new to me.

        • AxelFoley

Ok, I just Googled it, too.

        • I had to google it too! lol

Alabama police chief apologizes to Freedom Rider congressman

An Alabama police chief brought Rep. John Lewis to tears Saturday, apologizing to the noted civil rights leader for failing to protect the Freedom Riders during a trip to Montgomery in 1961.

Lewis and fellow civil rights activists were beaten by a mob after arriving at Montgomery’s Greyhound station in May, 1961.

On Saturday at ceremony at First Baptist Church, the city’s current police chief, Kevin Murphy, apologized to Lewis and offered him his badge in a gesture of reconciliation, telling the longtime Georgia congressman that Montgomery police had “enforced unjust laws” in failing to protect the Freedom Riders more than five decades ago.

    more here:

    • Camille

Nice gesture, but hopefully we’ll see some real and sustained action and humanity to go with it.

Every black kid, man, woman in Alabama is Rep. John Lewis, so let’s hope Kevin Murphy extends them all that same gesture of goodwill.

  • AxelFoley

    Good picks, Miranda. Good picks.

Love me some Oh, Sheila. And Ms. Watley was my BOO back in the day.

Thank you, deadspin. This junk they’re doing on the innanets is NOT the Harlem Shake. I hate when something like this takes off and becomes a meme and it’s all wrong in the first place.

  • Miranda

The Worm speaking on behalf of Kim Jung Un….and being invited on what used to be a respected Sunday talk show…get right people, get right.

Dennis Rodman: ‘My friend’ Kim Jung Un just wants Obama to call him

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman, whose fame stemmed as much from his on-court talent as it did from his perpetually bizarre antics, said on Sunday that North Korean leader Kim Jung Un is a good guy, albeit a misunderstood one.

And, he added, Kim does not want a war with the United States, despite what politicians and analysts claim. Rather, he wants Obama to just call him up and talk things out.

In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Rodman at times clumsily praised the North Korean leader, saying people in his country, “respected” him in a way Americans don’t understand. Yet at every turn, Stephanopoulos quickly jumped in to dispute Rodman’s claims with reports of North Korea’s poor record on human rights.

    • AxelFoley

      Dennis…Dennis…no, bro.

You damn right, Kim Jung Un don’t want war with the U.S. He knows we’ll fuck him up.

And what’s up with all these fools wanting the President to come to their house or call them? Today it’s Bob Woodward and Kim Jung Un. Remember that fool ass pastor down in Florida what wanted to burn the Quran publicly? Yeah, he wanted PBO to call him and talk it out. The balls on that dude. The balls on the rest of them, too.

      • GN

They all just want the daddy in the WH to give them some attention.

        • Miranda

It all goes to show how deep the racism is…they totally expect that black man to call them because they don’t see him as President of the United States to be respected and revered…they think they’re on the same level as PBO.

Letter to the editor, Denver Post, re: the little 6 year old kid whose parents have controversially filed a complaint and launched a national media tour after allowing this child to be diagnosed as transgender at age 4:

Coy Mathis was born a boy and identifies as a girl, but has to use a special bathroom where her presence won’t bug somebody. Perhaps she ought to use a separate drinking fountain and sit in a specially reserved seat just for her in the back of the school bus as well? Providing special facilities for those who are somewhat different from the sacred social boundaries of normalcy is discrimination. Coy should not be singled out, as that is discrimination.

I look at that sweet young face and I see a girl, irrespective of what might or might not be present lower down. In Coy I also see Rosa Parks sitting in that front seat in the bus proud of who she is, determined, courageous, and probably a little terrified. How many times do we need to go through this idiocy before we learn that discrimination by any other name is still discrimination?

Please, I beg you, letter writer and other activists asserting infant/child transsexualism, *LEAVE BLACK PEOPLE OUT OF THIS.* No comparison with Jim Crow and the economic terrorism which led to the bus boycotts.

    • Miranda

That letter disgusts me. Seriously, it does.

    • Rosa Parks???

      This really needs to stop.

    • conlakappa

Seriously, let your case rise and fall on its own merits. I dare say, it has no analogy so don’t try to manufacture one.

    • GN

FYI, one of the smartest comments I’ve read to date, taken from a womanist blog:

Once you eliminate discussion of which groups hold power, you can transform any incidence of feeling alienated into an identity. Therefore socially empowered groups feel free to appropriate the struggles of the people they dominate by focusing on any and all passing similarities between them rather than on actual exchanges of power. Feeling alienated from others is NOT the same as being oppressed by them.

      My emphasis.

    • Camille

Seriously? This gets more ridiculous by the minute.

If nothing is done to stop this trivializing of our civil rights heroes and their very real, extended and inhumanly brutal experiences, there won’t be much left by the time these random, silly people are done bastardizing it all.

Every time I hear these disgraceful d-bag Republicans blame Obama for yet another FABRICATED CRISIS in Washington D.C…..I always picture a conservative bigot standing in front of a black man’s chair at his desk.

Conservative bigot: ”Hey come you ain’t sitting down and workin’ ?”

Black man: ”I can’t sit down sir. You’re blocking my chair.”

You’re just preventing me from getting any work done.”

Conservative bigot: ”YOU LIE !! I ain’t preventing you from doin nothin’ boy.”

Black Man: ”Well how about a compromise? You move out of my way and go get your own work done and I can get back to work. Maybe we could even work together on some things later.”

Conservative bigot: ”Work together with YOU? You kiddin me boy? I would sooner spit in your face than work with you on anything !”

Black man: ”Ok sir. Well would you at least stop blocking me then?”

Conservative bigot: ”Hell No! I ain’t moving! How come you never have nothin’ to do with anything boy? How about you take personal responsibility? I ain’t the reason why you can’t get nothin’ done !! You are a failure ! Admit it ! ”

Calif. GOP leaders denounce attack on candidate
Harmeet Dhillon seeks to be party vice chairman

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —As delegates to the California Republican Party convention prepared to vote Sunday for their future leaders, the party’s current leadership denounced recent “racist” comments against one of the candidates.

Harmeet Dhillon, a lawyer from San Francisco, is running to become the party’s statewide vice chairman.

In a recent posting on Facebook, Dhillon was accused of sympathizing with terrorists by Vera Eyzendooren, president of the San Bernardino County Federation of Republican Women.

“I was told by one of Harmeet’s friends that because of her religion, her loyalty is to the Muslim religion,” wrote Eyzendooren. “So she will defend a Muslim beheading two men without hesitation … she is not Republican.”

Philly Mag cover: Whites must criticize blacks more

    POSTED: Saturday, March 2, 2013, 5:02 PM

Philadelphia Magazine just published an article by Robert Huber titled “Being white in Philly: In a city that is largely poor and segregated white people have become afraid to say anything at all about race. Here’s what’s not being said.”

No, it is not an Onion-esque parody of Philadelphia’s most white-bread journalistic institution, a magazine that seemingly hired Gene Marks just because he wrote the jaw-droppingly offensive article “If I Were a Poor Black Kid” for Forbes.

But before I continue, I must first disable the story’s booby trap, a defense built into its very DNA: the idea that “in so many quarters, simply discussing race is seen as racist.”

Huber is not a brave man, and his premise is totally false. People will only think you “simply discussing race” is racist if you, like Huber, treat black people like inscrutable extraterrestrials whose moral shortcomings might be responsible for their own poverty.

The reality is that many black people frequently talk about race and racism. And really, white people do too–sometimes intelligently, sometimes not so much. To the extent that whites do not discuss race more it is because they do not want to address important pieces of context like, say, history (see Louis CK).

Indeed, I’m a white guy who writes about race and frequently talk to black Philadelphians–and often, gasp, about race. Black sources have never protested frank questions about race for articles I write about poverty and educational inequity, police brutality and mass incarceration, or neighborhood segregation and (yes, largely black) gun violence.

Huber’s idea that white people are uniquely aggrieved because they are muzzled in discussions of race (why are they allowed to say the n-word and not me) is not a new one. It’s more that Huber wants to have a particular sort of conversation about race. Namely, he “yearn[s] for….the freedom to speak to my African-American neighbors about…how the inner city needs to get its act together.” Like, you know, an arguably racist conversation about race.

    • isonprize

Since, apparently, the Philadelphia article writer doesn’t see black people as people, the ending point of this City Paper article sums it up very clearly.

Philadelphia Magazine can sometimes not help but to brazenly stroke the fragile if well-resourced egos of its elite readership–and, and on its worst days, stoke their pathetic prejudices and insecurities too.

    • Miranda

SMH….The white guy that wrote this article wrote it as if he was saying “ya know what…I cant even go to sleep until I call this racist shit out.” Its good to know some people not afraid to turn to their white brethren and say “bitch please, you just racist”

  • lamh36

Aright, now, this here is how we do it down in the lower9!

My aunt (my godchild Maddie’s mother) and her brother (they are twins) had their 46th birthday party last night. I worked this weekend and I was hella tired, but I went ahead and drove to NOLA for the party. I drove back late last night, went to work this morning. I’m glad I did. All except 1 uncle were there (a few I hadn’t seen in a while.

Anyway, my family have been living in the same lower 9th neighborhood since before I was born (my mom is 53) and I think even before my mom was born. So anyway, when they have a party, the whole “old neighborhood” peeps come to every party.

The old people party and reminisce(sp?) and the young guns sit around an laugh at the old people, but since we are such a close knit bunch, even the young people know the old songs. The thing about NOLA is that if you are born and raised there, you know the old music as well as the new.

So anyway, this is how we roll in NOLA lower 9th. If it’s a party with an older crowd in NOLA, then you betta be ready to “wobble with it”…LOL.

    My extended family…

    • rikyrah

      sounds good, lamh

    • Nice! Y’all were gettin’ it in!

    • Aquagranny911

Sounds fun & a lot like the celebrations we have in my familia. Just one question…don’t the old folks dance? We do & the music spans generations, from the old folk songs of Mexico to whatever the kiddos are listening to now. Everybody dances, even my 93 year old Tio!

      • lamh36

oh yeah, the older folks are dancing too.

my family is a fairly young family. In my actual blood relations, the oldest person is my moms who’s soon to be 54. It used to be my grandfather, but he died last week.

So the old people at the parties lately are from the old neighborhood and don’t worry, there is another room that i didn’t video tape and there was dancing in their too…lool

        • Camille

So sorry about your grandfather lamh36. May his soul rest in peace.
What a blessing to have so much love around you and to enjoy being with them. That’s one of the greatest gifts of all.

        • Sorry about your grandfather, Lamh.

  • Miranda

Oh I didn’t know this heifer said this in the interview:

“If Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now.”

I really do despise her more than stupid Palin.

    • Alma98

They don’t want to go and the media is more than happy to keep them around.

      • Camille

They’re still auditioning and look like they still haven’t completely come to terms with the fact that they lost – and to the black couple too.

Losing to the black couple. LOL.

Surely that’s the stuff nightmares are made of for this son of Mormon royalty and his hand-picked child bride.

    • She’s nothing more than an overgrown, entitled brat.

      • JojoRaze

I’m convinced a lot of usually apathetic voters in the PL voted for PBO just to keep Michelle as First Lady since they couldn’t stand the thought of Ann Romney as First Lady. The woman just has a stomache churning effect on people. She just comes across as an entitled, whining woman. And Michelle has presence and business. Michelle is original Aunt Viv and Ann is second Aunt Viv, useless and forgetable.

        • Aquagranny911

Here’s a little tidbit for you. According to Ann, she was asked to be on “Dancing with the Stars” but declined because she said “at 63 she wasn’t so limber anymore.”

I was a bit surprised that she didn’t bring up her MS, except she might have gotten called out on that. According to a friend of ours who has it, dancing is good for people with MS.

Dang, old Cloris Leachman, at 80+ managed to dance on that show. Missy Ann just did not want to face those judges!

          • Camille

It really bothered me how flippantly Ann Romney threw around MS during her husband’s campaign.

She’s never used her wealth or position to help advance research for a cure or to provide support for the less privileged suffering with this very serious condition.

And now, it seems all but back in the cupboards folded away since Mitt lost.

          • Aquagranny911

No she did not! I really fault her for that. One of my best friends husband died a few years ago from the complications of MS.

We have a wonderful woman in our dance group that has MS. She never fails to do the Walk for MS or anything else to raise money or awareness.

She’s nearly 60 & she told me once that she knows a cure will not be found in her life time but she won’t stop working to help others.

Ann Romney is disgusting vermin, imo.

        • Miranda

No u didn’t say Original Aunt Vic and second Aunt Viv!! LMAO#TeamJanetHubertFOREVER

          • JojoRaze

Yes I did. Janet Hubert was the jam!

    • Aquagranny911

Evil wench! I fully agree with you about that last part. Palin is an ignorant grifter. Ann is an entitled smear of mutant DNA who thought she would be queen.

I really hope we won’t keep seeing these Romneys on MSM every weekend.

    • isonprize

Only because I hold Palin, if not responsible, at least related to, the shooting of Gabby Gifford, do I not have Ann R-money at the top of the “Hateful Female Re-thug” list.

OUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) — Bobby Rogers, a founding member of Motown group The Miracles and a collaborator with Smokey Robinson, has died. He was 73.

Bing: Watch videos of The Miracles

Motown Museum board member Allen Rawls says Rogers died Sunday morning at his home.

Rogers had been ill for several years. He lived in the Detroit suburb of Southfield.

Rogers formed the group in 1956 with cousin Claudette Rogers, Pete Moore, Ronnie White and Robinson. Their hits included “I Second That Emotion” and “The Tears of a Clown.” Rogers and The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

He shared songwriting credits with Robinson on The Temptations’ “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” The Contours’ “First I Look at the Purse” and The Miracles’ “Going to a Go-Go.”

—–Vice President Biden takes walk across bridge, history – —

——-During his remarks at two events Sunday in Selma, Vice President Joe Biden mentioned his regret for not being a part of the civil rights movements in Selma and other parts of the Deep South.

Sunday, Biden had the chance to visit the iconic Edmund Pettus Bridge, the point where marchers were attacked on March 7, 1965 and beaten by law enforcement in their attempts to march from Selma to Montgomery. It would prove to become one of the key powder keg moments of the civil rights movement and is known as Bloody Sunday.

“I regret — and although it’s not a part of what I’m supposed to say — I apologize it took me 48 years to get here,” Biden said just moments before heading over the bridge with thousands of others. “I should have been here. It’s one of the regrets that I have and many in my generation have.”

    – — Locked arm-in-arm with U.S. Rep John Lewis (D-Ga.), one of the marchers beaten on Bloody Sunday, Biden joined in spiritual songs and listened as Lewis stopped the march at the point where he and others were attacked, detailing the vivid accounts of how he was beaten, where others were trampled by horses.

In Medical First, a Baby With H.I.V. Is Called Cured
    Published: March 3, 2013

Doctors announced on Sunday that a baby had been cured of an H.I.V. infection for the first time, a startling development that could change how infected newborns are treated and sharply reduce the number of children living with the virus that causes AIDS.

The baby, born in rural Mississippi, was treated aggresively with antiretroviral drugs starting around 30 hours after birth, something that is not usually done. If further study shows this works in other babies, it will almost certainly change the way newborns of infected mothers are treated all over the world. The United Nations estimates that 330,000 babies were newly infected in 2011, the most recent year for which there is data, and that more than 3 million children globally are living with H.I.V.

If the report is confirmed, the child born in Mississippi would be only the second well-documented case of a cure in the world, giving a boost to research aimed at a cure, something that only a few years ago was thought to be virtually impossible.

The first person cured was Timothy Brown, known as the “Berlin patient,’’ a middle-aged man with leukemia who received a bone-marrow transplant from a donor genetically resistant to H.I.V. infection.

Collaboration and entrepreneurship to help house America

America’s housing problems are daunting. Millions of families pay more than half of their income for a place to live. Rampant foreclosures have destabilized neighborhoods across the country and left millions of households owing more on their mortgages than their homes are worth. At the same time, federal, state and local resources for housing and community development are shrinking. As a result, organizations committed to affordable housing must be more entrepreneurial than ever.

    – — -The Housing Partnership Network improves the lives of millions of individuals, families and communities by sparking innovation and collaboration among 100 of the nation’s affordable housing and community development nonprofits. By incubating innovative joint ventures and creating ongoing opportunities for peer learning and collaboration, the Network helps its members realize significant economies of scale, achieve greater collective impact, and exercise greater influence on public policy. Collectively, the Network and its member organizations employ more than 13,000 people in nearly 200 offices, operating in 75% of the nation’s major metro areas and in every state in the country.

Never. Give. Up.Ladies and gentlemen, Khalil Edney has arrived. With everything on the line, the high-school basketball player from New Rochelle made one of the most unlikely and dramatic game-winning shots of all time on Sunday.

Just a few seconds remained in the New York Section 1 Class AA Boys Basketball Championship, ninth-seeded New Rochelle trailed third-seeded Mount Vernon by two points. New Rochelle had possession, with Edney inbounding from under the basket New Rochelle was defending.

He tosses a prayer pass to half court. The pass is stolen, but for some reason the Mount Vernon player tries to pass the ball to a teammate. Edney, who hadn’t given up on the play, intercepts the pass and hurls it toward the basket from more than 50 feet away.

—–Bob Woodward Completely Changes His Story on ‘Threatening’ White House Email

    – – —-Bob Woodward has again changed his story on the “threatening” White House email. On “Face The Nation”, Woodward says the email was never threatening.

    Video via CBS News:
Woodward said, “What happened two very good reporters from Politico came to me, and they’d written a very thoughtful piece about bullying from the White House of other reporters and people, and kind of message management that they thought was extreme. And I cited the Sperling emails as an example of not the way to operate,” he said. “I never said it was threatening, I just said, “This just won’t work,’ and it won’t work.” – –[STR* UP –LIAR!!! -]- – – – – – -SNIP —

    – – –-What we have learned from all of this is that Bob Woodward’s definition of “good journalism” involves attacking Obama. Earlier this week Woodward praised Sean Hannity’s journalism skills, and he followed that up by supporting Politico’s inside the beltway right wing fawning.

After Woodward made a fool of himself by claiming a threat that never was, his only choice was to throw Politico under the bus.

    – – -uThis whining from the beltway press has nothing to do with the Obama administration “bullying journalists.” It is really all about the fact that the Obama White House has bypassed the media and taken their message straight to the American people. – –

    – —Mitt Romney Blames Minorities For Costing Him The Election – —

    – —- – –On Fox News Sunday today, Mitt Romney blamed minorities for costing him the election, and poor people who like free things for his defeat.
    — — –Mitt Romney is still living in a fantasy land. The problem with Romney’s statement is that he did not do “very well” with the majority population. According to the US Census Bureau, women are the majority population (50.8%) in America. Women made up 54% of the electorate in 2012, and Obama crushed Romney with these voters, 55%-44%. Romney’s did so poorly with women that the gender gap between how men and women voted increased from 12 points in 2008 to 18 points in 2012.

In Romney’s view, the majority is white men. This belief demonstrates that Mitt Romney still doesn’t understand who the electorate is. (It is stunning that the man could take such a total drubbing at the polls, and still believe that he did well with the majority.) It wasn’t minorities who love Obamacare that hurt Romney. It was his embrace of far right views on issues like abortion and contraception that mortally wounded his presidential campaign.
