Fam, we need to make a list of these black folks in the media who showed they asses for who and what they really were during PBO’s two terms (yes, I said TWO TERMS) in office.

Once PBO’s time in office is over come January 2017, we need to keep track of those fools who did their damnedest to kneecap him.

So far, I got Bitter Boyce, Travesty and Corny. Who else should go on the list?

      • Miranda

I have Emmanuel Cleaver and Maxine Waters on the “tentative” list. If they don’t shape up this summer and fall, they on the permanent list.

      • itgurl_29

I didn’t know they interrupted Rev’s show! Wow. This interview is pissing me off though. Glad a caller asked them about their hypocrisy on the issue of poverty.

        • Miranda

And did they ever say what was on this “black agenda” or what the “black issues” are that they claim aren’t being addressed by PBO??

    • Camille

Cornel West and Tavis Smiley are weaving a web that will ultimately entrap and strangle them both.

    • Camille

      Yeah right.

President Obama has certainly fallen short of being God and failed to unite a willing America.

And just why oh why hasn’t he waved his magic wand, commanded and gotten the perpetually fickle, memory-challenged, low-information American public and the entitled, greedy, hostile, viciously underhanded white supremacists and the self-serving stockholm syndrome afflicted opportunists who make up and control the GOP, Congress, political elite, Wall Street, Judiciary, media, Catholic church, Evangelicals to fall in line, hold hands and sing kumbaya?!

How is it that Barack Obama has not been able to immediately convert and convince twice-baked lifelong racists and assholes?

Make them in spite of their own long-held prejudices, resentments and inbuilt sense of entitlement and presumed natural order of things and only heightened by their targeted ambitions for power and control – which are contingent upon destroying and defeating him – rally with him or even just quit obstructing his efforts to rebuild the ravaged country he inherited from their twice-elected favorite son, and help solidify his status as the most accomplished President in our generation.

Why oh why won’t President Obama just use that handy magic wand of his?

Why the reluctance, no the stubborn refusal, to unite America and why won’t he instantly reverse a lifetime of wrong and damage done by all those who came before him?

Now I’m really pissed because if President Obama really, really loved America, he would either put that magic wand to use immediately or do the patriotic thing and stop making the racists show their asses unprovoked. How dare President Obama unmask and expose without even trying, the very ugly and malicious racism and greed that continues to ravage America?

    – – – -NEW DATA: Elections Supervisors Throughout Florida Confirm U.S. Citizens Improperly Included In Voter Purge – – –

    – – – — When Gov. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) administration distributed its controversial lists of possible non-citizen voters last month, state statute required the state’s 67 county supervisors of elections to send out letters requiring those voters to prove their eligibility to vote within 30 days — a window that will end in the next couple of weeks in many counties. But a ThinkProgress survey of several county supervisors in Florida reveals that the lists of presumed non-eligible voters is riddled with errors. In large and small jurisdictions across the state, supervisors have found that a large number of the voters on the list are indeed eligible voters.

    – – – -SKIP – – –

Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Ann McFall told ThinkProgress that she and the state’s 66 other county elections supervisors sent a “clear message” to the Scott administration at a Tampa conference two weeks ago. “One after another, [they] got up and talked about inaccuracies [in the state’s voter purge list of alleged non-citizen voters].”

In Miami-Dade, the count of voters whose citizenship status has been challenged by the Scott administration numbered in the hundreds. With time left to respond, nearly a quarter of those sent letters in have already proven their eligibility.

    – -Several smaller counties also confirmed to ThinkProgress that voters have proven that their inclusion on the list was in error.

In Clay County, near Jacksonville, the elections supervisor received two names from the state. One proved citizenship; the other was purged from the rolls for not responding within 30 days. Charlotte County (two out of nine) and Bradford County (two out of nine) also reported significant percentage of errors on the state’s list.

Five Points About Politico’s Hatchet Job On NYT and WaPo
    By Devin Gordon

Here’s the piece, published this morning. The upshot: The political coverage of The New York Times and The Washington Post is “blatantly biased” in their vetting of Romney versus Obama. (Guess which way they supposedly lean.) Sample paragraph: “Republicans cry ‘bias’ so often it feels like a campaign theme. It is, largely because it fires up conservatives and diminishes the punch of legitimate investigative or narrative journalism. But it also is because it often rings true…” The evidence: The Times wrote a mean story about Ann Romney’s equestrian hobby! And The Post wrote a mean story about Mitt Romney’s teenage bullying of a maybe-gay kid! And they both ignored all those juicy weed-smoking details from the new David Maraniss biography! (Never mind that Maraniss works for the Post, and the Times did cover it…) GOP operatives smell bias, and goshdarnit, they’re right!

    Ahem. Let’s break this down.

    – – -<i>Cardinal Timothy Dolan has led the charge against same-sex marriage, describing gay and lesbian unions as “unjust,” “immoral,” and unnatural. “This is a very violation of what we consider natural law that’s embedded in every man and woman and we’re really worried as Americans that it’s going to be detrimental to the common good,” Dolan said in a radio interview in June, as New York prepared to legalize marriage equality. “[W]e still worry about the detrimental effect upon society, upon culture, and certainly upon our individual churches.”

But church documents showing that Dolan paid off priests who had been accused of sexually abusing minors suggest that the prominent Catholic leader was willing to overlook these very same religious convictions to help colleagues accused of egregious wrong doing. The documents, obtained by the New York Times, also show that Dolan lied to reporters when he initially dismissed news of the payments as “false, preposterous and unjust”:

Hmmmmm…POU, whatcha gotta say about this comment from actress Michelle Rodriquez. Now being Black does NOT guarantee you an Oscar nom, so I think she’s off-base there and her delivery was questionable and racist in a sense…..but there is a sliver of truth telling in her comment, especially considering the roles that Black women have won Oscar statues for.

Michelle Rodriguez Has Strong Opinions About The Paperboy

When we caught up with Michelle Rodriguez at the amfAR event at Cannes this past week, she had just come from one of the festival’s most controversial movies. “I loved The Paperboy!” she told us. She wasn’t daunted by some of the pans for the Lee Daniels–directed movie? “I say fuck them because they don’t get it,” Rodriguez replied. “He’s so good at keeping me entertained. When I don’t like the dialogue, I’m amused by the visuals. And when I don’t like the visuals, I’m amused by the dialogue. It’s always switching up senses. I’m intrigued by his ability to capture me in a theater. It’s not easy to capture me in a theater — I’m ADD like that.” As for those outrageous Paperboy scenes where Nicole Kidman pees on Zac Efron and arrives at a very loud hands-free orgasm, “I fucking loved it,” Rodriguez enthused. “One of my friends said, ‘She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar for that.’ I was like, ‘Nah, man. She’s not black!’ I laugh, but it’s also very sad. It makes me want to cry. But I really believe. You have to be trashy and black to get nominated. You can’t just be trashy.”

      • Miranda

LOL, I laugh but I was thinking the same thing.

    • itgurl_29

She ain’t too bright but I understand what she was trying to say. White folks get a thrill and a high when they see black women looking a mess, acting a mess, being treated foul, or living foul. Look at Octavia Spencer won for playing a maid who was treated like crap and then fed crap to her tormentor. Monique won for being a foul, stank looking, disturbed, sexual molester “welfare queen”. Jennifer Hudson’s role wasn’t that bad, but the character was downtrodden the entire second half of the movie, plus she was overweight, which they love. And don’t get me started on what Ms. Halle had to do to get an Oscar.

So while she could have expressed herself way better, I pretty much agree with her. A black woman can’t get an Oscar playing a real human being. She’s got to play a nasty stereotype just to be considered for the award.

      • PBomb

That is pretty much what she is saying. She isn’t that smart(read about her life) and isn’t very good with words.

        • conlakappa

Bless her heart, she just learned via Skip Gates’s show that she is 1/5 black. Maybe she is pondering someone making her feel guuuuud.

    – — –“I’m Rubber, You’re Glue”: The Sequel – —

    – — –Well, we should have seen this coming:

Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod was shouted down Thursday at an event in Boston that was staged to attack Mitt Romney’s record as governor of Massachusetts.

Axelrod called the press conference to hammer home the Obama campaign’s critique of Romney’s time as governor, and brought along officials from around the state to reinforce the message.

But the pro-Obama speakers had to shout to be heard over the “boos” from Romney supporters who showed up for the event….

    – -Mitt Romney has made a habit of using “I’m rubber, you’re glue” rhetoric in attacking President Obama — calling Obama “out of touch” after being called that himself, responding to Obama’s recent statement on gay marriage by charging that Obama is a flip-flopper — and now it appears that the Romney campaign is stealing tactics from Team Obama.

Most of the megadonors backing his candidacy are elderly billionaires: Their median age is 66, and their median wealth is $1 billion. Each is looking for a payoff that will benefit his business interests, and they will all profit from Romney’s pledge to eliminate inheritance taxes, extend the Bush tax cuts for the superwealthy – and then slash the top tax rate by another 20 percent.

Four years ago, one of the richest religious organizations in the country broke their agreement with the Internal Revenue Service, and they deserve nothing less than revocation of their 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit organization, and the IRS is bound to collect taxes that were lost retroactively by virtue of Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Cory Booker administration scrambles to keep Newark water treatment plant open
    Updated: Thursday, May 31, 2012, 3:15 PM
    David Giambusso/The Star-Ledger

NEWARK — Newark city officials are scrambling to keep the doors open on their water treatment plant after funds for the facility, which treats 80 million gallons of water for 500,000 residents in and around Newark, run out today.

According to a letter from the State Comptroller’s office, Mayor Cory Booker’s administration botched an application with the state earlier this year for a three-year, professional services contract to treat the water. City officials wanted to give the $16 million contract to the Newark Watershed Conservation and Development Corporation without public bidding or a public hearing.

    The comptroller’s office said no.

Warren To Brown: Leave My Parents Out Of This

Massachusetts Senate aspirant Elizabeth Warren (D) fired back at Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) on Thursday, writing in a statement that the Republican incumbent should apologize for suggesting that Warren’s parents were dishonest when they informed her of the family’s Native American heritage.

Warren has not provided any documentation of her heritage, but instead has said that she learned of her ancestry through family lore. On Thursday, Brown quipped to reporters, “My mom and dad have told me a lot of things, too, but they’re not always true.”

    From Warren’s statement:

“Scott Brown’s comments about my parents are totally out of line. I resent him questioning their honesty. My mother and father are not here to defend themselves and should be off limits. Don and Pauline Herring are not fair game and Scott Brown should apologize.”

But the premature release and preview of his “expertise” found him wanting and CNN weaseled out of the deal. The photo op that arose from it made for some good optics, and we hadn’t talked about Obama’s investments in green energy, some of which go to companies whose ideas fail, in, oh, months (the news that federally subsidized Solyndra filed for bankruptcy happened months ago.) And yet, the moment went awry thanks to John Edwards.

Rich beach town bills Obama $35K for campaign visit

The overwhelmingly Republican, exceedingly wealthy Southern California beach town of Newport Beach has slapped the Obama campaign with the bill for its February fundraising visit to the Corona del Mar neighborhood. The affluent community’s City Manager Dave Kiff is behind the unprecedented billing, arguing that since the visit was campaign-related, not official presidential business, the Obama campaign should pay for the increased security, as would any private event. The bill’s due date of June 9 is fast approaching, but there has been as yet no response from the Obama campaign offices in Chicago.

Despite Bin Laden, Romney Gives Obama An ‘F’ On Foreign Policy

In an interview with CBS News’ Jan Crawford scheduled to air later tonight, Mitt Romney gives President Obama an ‘F’ grade on foreign policy, even when considering the successful raid on and death of Osama bin Laden.

“Oh an ‘F’, there’s no question about that,” Romney tells Crawford.

“Even despite the killing of Osama bin Laden?” asks Crawford.

“When I look at foreign policy, when I look at across the board in foreign policy, I look at the fact that he was looking to have a force of American troops staying in Iraq securing what was so hard to have been won there with a status of forces agreement – he failed to achieve it,” Romney explained. “I look at what’s happening in the Middle East – the Arab Spring has become the Arab Winter – that’s hardly a success.”

      Why the loudmouth Democrats demand so little from Bill Clinton yet praise him endlessly;
But demand so much from President Obama and attack him relentlessly, is anyone’s guess.

Bill Clinton wants to keep revising history to become the left’s version of Reagan fake GOP hero upgrade and all, then he ought to earn it at the very least. Not just when he thinks it will be personally and politically beneficial to him and Hillary and their many plans in some way.

No doubt however that Clinton will extract every last benefit, perk and political commitment to him and Hillary in exchange for this trip. It is the Clinton way. They never do anything for free. You will owe them. Forever.

“Moving beyond the Southwest and Florida, Latino voters can also influence the election results in ‘nontraditional’ states like North Carolina, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia, ” said Matt Barreto, co-founder of Latino Decisions, a polling firm. “Those states have had substantial growth in the Latino population and among voters, based on our analysis of census data and statewide voter rolls.”

    – –ANALYSIS: Romney’s Greedy Past

    – – -Over the next five months, the Obama campaign plans to release a series of hard-hitting ads linking Mitt Romney to shutting down thriving businesses, laying off thousands of employees and pocketing profits while workers struggled to make ends meet.

Romney’s corporate greed will be one of the major story lines from now until Election Day, according to Obama aides.

The Romney camp calls it character assassination. The Obama campaign calls it the truth.

Obama campaign advisors point to Ampad to make their case to voters. In 1994, Ampad acquired and quickly closed a plant in Marion, Indiana which cost all 250 workers their jobs. Ampad went on to lose a total of 1,500 jobs while Romney and his investors multiplied their initial investment 20 times over.

    – —SKIP – —

    – -For decades, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has taught that black people are “inferior” and “cursed” by God because of something sinister that blacks did before they were born.

“And [God] had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity,” according to a bizarre passage from the Book of Mormon. “For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.”

What does Romney think about this Mormon scripture? He won’t say. Or at least he’s not telling black voters.

The video slammed Obama for investing government money in green energy companies like Solyndra, and losing it when the companies hit the skids. “Public equity President Obama — playing Wall Street games with our money,” the vid intones.

Rikyrah!!! Do not get me started on Russell Wong! He was my first TV crush. I had an obsession with all things Asian when I was a child. I read every children’s historical fiction book about the Japanese-American internment and Asia in general, in addition to karate flicks. I still remember watching Margaret Cho’s show “American Girl” on Tuesdays on ABC and Russell Wong’s show “Vanishing Son” on Saturday evening on WPIX, now CW. I was so sprung on Russel Wong I couldn’t hate him in Joy Luck Club even though he was evil because he’s so fine. I saw him recently in a commercial for Kohl’s or some such and I sighed inside. Love that guy.

Ha! I have joked with other black women in the past about Russell’s Black Trench Coat of Sexy in New Jack. I first saw him in Eat a Bowl of Tea, which is a lovely movie about a period of American history of the Chinese.

I’ve loved Jim Caviezal from The Count of Monte Cristo. His religicosity doesn’t bother me because he adopted special needs kids. Some of his liberal friends asked him if he was so anti-abortion, why won’t he and by implication, his pro-life buddies, adopt special needs children. He said they were right and that’s what he did.

Obama Camp Hits Back Over Romney’s ‘F’ Grade

The Obama campaign has responded to a CBS News interview with Mitt Romney in which the Governor gave President Obama an ‘F’ grade on foreign policy, despite the killing of Osama bin Laden.

“Governor Romney’s comment assigning a grade to President Obama’s foreign policy is just as misguided and misinformed as his statement about Russia being our top geopolitical foe,” said Ambassador Tim Roemer, a former ambassador to India, in an emailed statement. ”

Since taking office, President Obama has responsibly ended the war in Iraq; decimated al-Qaeda’s leadership, including Osama bin Laden; is winding down the war in Afghanistan; reduced the threat of nuclear weapons; strengthened our alliances; increased our exports overseas, creating jobs here at home; and led the world in putting crippling sanctions on Iran,” Roemer added. “Gov. Romney is out of the mainstream even of his own party on foreign policy, and many prominent Republican experts have recognized President Obama’s accomplishments on these issues.”

  • lamh35

So the rehabilitation of John Edwards by the old Edward supporters began right after the verdicts were read.

Wonder how soon will he begin running for office again and how soon the donations will begin to pour in again.

I don’t really care that Edwards was a cheatin’ scum, I don’t even care if he gave his jump off a job, but the idea that John Edwards and later on Elizabeth Edwards was perfectly comfortable running for President in today’s political climate with the shit on their backs pisses me off to no end and if that makes me unforgiving then too bad. I mean even after he ended his campaign, the Edwards camp was still lobbying Obama for his endorsement and to be on the ticket.

So sorry, F’em. Dont’ think he deserved to go to prison, but have no interest in seeing in public office anytime soon (His press conference at the end was basically a campaign speech)

—–Justice Department Demands Florida Stop Purging Voter Rolls — –

    – – – – -The Justice Department sent a letter to Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner Thursday evening demanding the state cease purging its voting rolls because the process it is using has not been cleared under the Voting Rights Act, TPM has learned.

DOJ also said that Florida’s voter roll purge violated the National Voter Registration Act, which stipulates that voter roll maintenance should have ceased 90 days before an election, which given Florida’s August 14 primary, meant May 16.

Five of Florida’s counties are subject to the Voting Rights Act, but the state never sought permission from either the Justice Department or a federal court to implement its voter roll maintenance program. Florida officials said they were trying to remove non-citizens from the voting rolls, but a flawed process led to several U.S. citizens being asked to prove their citizenship status or be kicked off the rolls.

    – -Six members of Congress wrote Gov. Rick Scott earlier this week demanding that he stop purging the state’s voting rolls since the process improperly flagged numerous individuals who were eligible to vote.

Romney’s campaign, meanwhile, was bringing attention to failed stimulus projects under Obama and federal money given to green energy companies like Solyndra, a solar firm that received hundreds of millions of dollars from the government only to go bankrupt. The competing attack-lines came as Romney pivoted from a long primary slog to the Republican nomination and a newsummertime window to sway voters who have not yet fully tuned into the presidential campaign.
