    – – -Here’s How the Media Helps Republicans with Their Sabotage of ObamaCare
    — – – -The media follows Republican direction, even after they’ve been lied to repeatedly by Republicans (Benghazi emails, IRS Tea Party targeting, etc).
A perfect example of just how closely they fall in line with GOP talking points can be seen in a Republican memo outlining their attacks on ObamaCare, via the New York Times.
From providing sample op-eds (nothing says grassroots like a sample op-ed) to instructions to use social media to spread the message, the document lays out a shock and awe campaign against ObamaCare.

The main messages are: “Because of Obamacare, I Lost My Insurance”, “Obamacare Increases Health Care Costs” and “The Exchanges May Not Be Secure, Putting Personal Information at Risk”.

They order their troops to “Continue Collecting Constituent Stories” — aka, provide anecdotal backup to the claims they are making so the media has someone to parade in front of the public.
    – – – -SNIP — –

Republicans are doing anything they can to sabotage ObamaCare.
They’ve sabotaged the website rollout and the website itself by refusing to run the state exchanges and then refusing to fund the federal exchange to handle the added burden. Then they spread instructions on how to DDOS the website, while decrying its lack of safety and instability.

Acquilla Clemons: The black witness the Warren Commission ignored

    excerpt:
Yet there was one witness, with a clear view of Tippit’s shooting, who was startlingly consistent with her story. She also happened to be African-American. Her name was Acquilla Clemons and among conspiracy theorists her testimony is legendary because it was never formally taken.

She told investigators that she saw two men at the scene of the crime from her front porch. One had a pistol as was waving the other man away. The armed man was described by Clemons as “chunky,” “short” and “kind of heavy” and the other man was “tall” and “thin,” wearing a white shirt and khakis, neither of which matched Oswald’s appearance on that fateful day.

Three of the bullets fired into Tippit were manufactured by one company (Winchester) but the fourth was made by another (Remington), an unusual occurrence which may support Clemons testimony that there were multiple shooters.

Later, Clemons claimed she received an intimidating visit from Dallas authorities warning her not to repeat what she saw.

LOL ! The media is mad because they can’t push more negative anti-Obama stuff by putting out bad photos of the president. I noticed some people are complaining that the white house is not more open to to the WHPC but who cares ? The media has tried to ruin this president since day one.

      • TresL

I think they are jealous of Pete’s great pictures. They want the accolades he receives, the bragging rights or a Pulitzer. I’m convinced that the WHPC only wants access to PBO so they can score brownie points with their colleagues and RWNJs when they disrespect him (i.e Chuck Todd, etc.), to find something to nit-pick to create a fake scandal (i.e “good looking” Kamala Harris) and find a way to make some money by writing a book; none of which has anything to do with informing the public of what their President is doing on their behalf.

Hey thanks AG, you can do it in pieces. Long huh lol. I sense chaos in cc household.

Daughter says there are some good youtube demos of how to form the cones & stuff them. She gave me a link.

Her stuffing recipe & the dough are pretty simple. It was putting them together that got long & detailed.

Republicans have only themselves to blame for Reid’s ‘nuclear option’
BY JAMES DOWNIE November 21 at 2:43 pm

If the Founding Fathers could see the Senate after today’s vote by Senate Democrats to prohibit filibusters of most presidential appointments, they would, of course, be appalled. ”What are all these women doing here?” they would ask. But as for the filibuster reform, they’d wonder what all the fuss was about.

There is no mention of the filibuster in the Constitution. Until very recently in U.S. history, filibusters were rarely used. Half of all filibusters of executive-branch nominees have occurred under President Obama, and it was obvious from the first day of his presidency that Republicans would use the tactic to hamstring the government and block Obama.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, then, had every right to push for changes to filibuster rules four years ago, when GOP use of the filibuster was already out of control. But instead, Reid offered deal after deal to Senate Republicans. They accepted some. They honored none. Instead, the delaying tactics have continued. Frequently they have been used to block the implementation of laws the Senate had passed — the two-year filibustering of the first head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for example, just because Republicans didn’t like the law. And Republicans have paired judicial nullification with legislative nullification, blocking a record number of Obama’s judicial appointees — a power the Constitution actually mentions, unlike the filibuster — for no real reason other than that they were Democratic nominees, not Republican ones.

Fritz Pollard Alliance Urges NFL Players to “stop using the word n*gger”
by Greg Smith | Posted on Thursday, November 21st, 2013

The Fritz Pollard Alliance whose mission is to promote candidate talent development for coaching, front office executives and scouting staff throughout the National Football League (“NFL”) through strategic efforts, wrote an open letter to NFL players urging them to stop using the work n*gger:

“While we understand and respect that different generations have different means of communicating, we cannot condone on any level the use of the “N” word. We understand the history of the game and especially the significance of the re-integration of the National Football League in 1946 when many who opposed blacks playing in the league used the same racial epithets from the stands. Men like Kenny Washington, Woody Strode, Bill Willis, and Marion Motley bravely withstood the indignity of the “N” word during a time when black men were beaten and even hung simply because of the color of their skin. Indeed, the “N” word was the last word that countless blacks across the country – in large cities and small towns – heard before being killed in racist attacks. To use it so loosely now is a disgrace.

In Miami Gardens, store video catches cops in the act

Earl Sampson has been stopped and questioned by Miami Gardens police 258 times in four years.
He’s been searched more than 100 times. And arrested and jailed 56 times.

Despite his long rap sheet, Sampson, 28, has never been convicted of anything more serious than possession of marijuana.
Miami Gardens police have arrested Sampson 62 times for one offense: trespassing.

Almost every citation was issued at the same place: the 207 Quickstop, a convenience store on 207th Street in Miami Gardens.

But Sampson isn’t loitering. He works as a clerk at the Quickstop.

So how can he be trespassing when he works there?

It’s a question the store’s owner, Alex Saleh, 36, has been asking for more than a year as he watched Sampson, his other employees and his customers, day after day, being stopped and frisked by Miami Gardens police. Most of them, like Sampson, are poor and black.

    – – — -Attorney General Eric Holder says the Justice Department will soon announce a decision on whether to file civil rights charges against George Zimmerman in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.

The death of the unarmed 17-year-old in Florida touched off a national debate about race.

The Washington Post reported Holder’s comments, which were confirmed by Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon. Holder says the civil rights investigation into Martin’s death will be completed relatively soon and that the Justice Department will issue a report about its deliberations. Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter.

Holder has called Martin’s killing a “tragic, unnecessary shooting death.”

    – —After Harry Reid was pushed to the brink by Republicans blocking three D.C. nominees, he changed the filibuster rules for judicial and executive branch nominees. The new rule does not apply to legislation or Supreme Court nominees.

People for the American Way noted that Republicans tried to shut down our courts like they shut down our government, all in an attempt to nullify elections they lost, “This irresponsible obstruction is part of a

Marge Baker, executive vice president of People For the American Way, issued the following statement:

    – – -“Republicans’ abuse of Senate rules during this administration has been astounding. While President Obama has made an effort to work with Republican senators to nominate fair, accomplished judges, Republicans have blocked his nominees at every turn, often for no reason other than the fact that it was President Obama who nominated them.

This irresponsible obstruction is part of a larger effort by Republicans in Congress to nullify laws they don’t like and overturn the results of elections that they lost. This profoundly anti-democratic approach to governing shut down our federal government, and threatened to shut down our courts.”

    – —-Nearly 80,000 people have picked out a private health plan in California under ObamaCare, according to data released by the state’s exchange on Thursday.

Covered California, which enrolled 31,000 in October, signed up almost 50,000 additional consumers in the first 19 days of November. Those numbers include those who have made it through the enrollment process and selected a plan but have not yet made a premium payment.

The exchange also touted a high number of individuals who have filled out applications but not yet selected a healthcare plan. Covered California said it received more than 10,000 completed applications a day last week, topping out with a high of 71,888.
