    Merry Christmas POU. I’ve been a daily diligent lurker from the inception of this site and I just wanted to delurk to say Thank you for helping me through the worst year of my life.On October 12th my husband of 33 years passed away suddenly. He was a die hard Obama fan and I used to keep him informed…because you guys kept me informed. For the past 3 months POU has been a haven for me. I’m here reading into the wee hours of the night because I don’t. know what sleep is anymore. Someone said on the last thread that the precious memories are the most important and I agree wholeheartedly.I have many memories and I can truly say that I know my husband loved me with every inch of his heart. And he showed it and said it everyday. I hope you all have a peaceful day…and please hug and enjoy your loved ones. Thanks for listening.

    I’m currently at work right now and I’d just like to say that someone should tell certin “MeDical professional” that “bedside manor” should also extend to their fellow medical professionals and co-workers even if we are lowly lab workers…bastard. Ugh, I’ve still got 3 1/2 hours left in my day and I’m pissed enough to just go my ass home. Ugh…woo-sah, woo-sah, woo-sah!

    Anyway, Happy Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, whatever.

    - – -The site where Michael Reese Hospital once stood isn’t much to look at, just a 37-acre swath of overgrown land in Bronzeville, behind a shoddy chain-link fence.

    Developers are itching to build a casino or perhaps a sports entertainment complex on the city-owned property located in the shadows of downtown near the south lakefront. But residents of this historic African-American community have something grander in mind.

    They envision a Barack Obama presidential library.

    Welp, got off at 8pm made it home 25 minutes later (15minutes longer than I usually do) DFW area has ice and snow for Christmas. I’ve never been so happy to live close to work (my next apartment is literally across the street from my new job). I already know my tires and brakes aren’t “winter weather” ready (not hopelessly messed up, just needed repairs/tuneups).

    Now sitting down to eat left over hot wings and pizza. Just lovely…lol.

    I’ll be home in 14 days so I’m, actually fine with working Chrsitmas, but then my cousin sent me a picture of my grnadmother’s brother who we haven’t seen in like 5 YEARS! He’s the last living relation we have of that generation. My grandmother and her other brother has been long dead. So Uncle Benny is our last link to her.

    – – –HONOLULU (AP) — President Barack Obama will cut short his traditional Christmas holiday in Hawaii, planning to leave for Washington on Wednesday evening as he and lawmakers consider how to prevent the economy from going over the so-called fiscal cliff.

    Obama was expected to arrive in Washington early Thursday, the White House said Tuesday night. First lady Michelle Obama and the couple’s two daughters will remain in Hawaii.

    In the past, the president’s end-of-the-year holiday in his native state had stretched into the new year. The first family had left Washington last Friday night.
