Reasonable, moderate republican isn’t an oxymoron. Saw this man on my TL and he is schooling the RWNJs on his timeline:
” MR Jeep ad. This is all you need to know about how they feel about Ohio right now. Willing to so distort that GM/Chrysler have no choice.”
” MR gambits into WI, PA, MI more about not having a secure path to 270; less about expanding map. Trying to hit a couple of 3 point shots.”
This is a RT ” Contrary to Karl Rove’s public optimism on Fox, his Crossroads GPS not buying in WI (giving up?), buying in NC (worried GOP mite lose?)”

I know, UNfreakingbelievable! This is a republican I can tolerate but the trolls are giving him HELL lol. And I thought only dems turned on their own.

NOLA peeps (especially u Brandon) ya’ll gonna love this bullshhh.. This mofo who was head of GWB’s FEMA when Katrina drowned NOLA trying to knock Obama administration for responding TOO QUICKLY to Hurricane Sandy! WTF! Get out of here with that mess. Maybe if GWBush, and Nagin and Blancho woulda responded quicker to Katrina, so many lives including my damn grandmother would not have been lost!!!! This is the kinda stuff that really p*** me off!!!

    • conlakappa

Damn, they are crawling out from under every rock, aren’t they? Every disgraced white man has say about this President even.

    • Worldwatcher7

So sorry to hear that this idiot’s words restimulated the pain of losing your grandmother. I suppose many more New Orleanians are hurting at the thought of this incompetent bungler having the nerve to ever speak about a national weather crisis.

    • Miranda

oh you already know, we raked his ass over the coals on the afternoon thread as soon as the bad stench of wind blew about this fool. How dare this useless fuck even have the nerve to show his face at such a time. That he would actually comment…and THEN dare to question the “quickness” of the response? Seriously, I hope he is out in public and someone just says “F it” and walks up and punches him right in his mouth and all his chicklets fall to the floor.

But David Sirota respects Brownie more than he does President Obama, and if the all-knowing David Sirota declares that Brownie is great and infallible who are we to dispute that?

Dems have another strong day of early voting in Florida. They had a 0.5% party edge yesterday, up to 1.4% edge today cabpolitical.com/2012/10/30/dem…

This is why I believe we are gonna get FL again.

    • Keithnohio

I have always believed we could win Florida as well as N. Carolina again. We just have to make sure all votes are being counted. One of the county election officials down in Florida has been exposed for overseeing disappearing early votes tallies. Hope the OFA lawyers are on this.

  • Miranda

CNN edited its own site to delete this from the Romney photo op story: The campaign announced they would load supplies into a campaign bus for delivery in Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania – all swing states impacted by the storm.___________________SMH, watch as the media covers and doesn’t ask why the campaign’s “relief” efforts somehow will not be directed at citizens who have endured huge losses in NY, NJ and MA as well.

    • Town

Maybe Chris Christie found out about Mitt’s plans to bypass NJ with the supply bus and decided that was the last straw.

  • conlakappa

Just got a robo-call from recorded John Bolton ranting about Benghazi. I dealt with the man about 20 years ago when he wasn’t known for being a nutter. Had it been his actual voice, I would have told him that. /vom

  • MsKitty

Here I go with too much time on my hands overanalyzing stuff again…

Something very interesting about this development of PBO touring Jersey with Gov. Christie, as well as Christie’s sudden change in demeanor. If you recall, in the thick of the GOP primary Christie was one of the first high profile Republicans to throw his support behind Willard. Christie went all over the country to campaign for Romney, to the point that even some NJ GOP complained that he should spend more time at home doing his actual job.

I think we all picked up on the shifting winds at the GOP convention, but this week has really brought to light what Christie’s thinks of Willard’s chances. Sure he needs to work with PBO to help NJ recover, but he could be quiet about it like his GOP neighbor Tom Corbett. But instead, Christie is praising PBO to all media, sending out flattering tweets, the whole nine. And what’s more in so many words he has made it clear that Willard shouldn’t bother coming to NJ. That tells me that Christie has seen the internal polls and he’s doing everything he can to get off the ship before it hits the iceberg. What’s more, once the Tea Party demons are exorcised by 2016 the GOP will need to put out a candidate that is moderate and can work as a bipartisan. What better way to burnish those creds than embracing PBO as your long-lost BFF during a major crisis.

I could be wrong about all this, but I just find this development fascinating.

    • angee

I think the turning point was the rnc when crispy creme cited HIS resume to the masses. Also this summer can’t remember but wouldn’t be surprised if it was more about crispy talking bout crispy and doing photo opts. .
Not to get ahead of the game, but 2016 is going to be VERY interesting. There’s a reason why bubba clinton is out there knocking himself out on the campaign trail for Obama and it ain’t because he likes the man.

    • Town

No you’re not wrong, because Chris Christie was all up on my TV screen singing the joys of Mitt Romney UNTIL THE RNC and you ain’t seen Chris Christie shilling for Mitt Romney since. His first clue that Mitt’s Party Yacht was going down was when he had to beg the people at the RNC to stand up and show some life.

    • conlakappa

Christie has the loyalty of a $5 whore just one with more ambition. Between this and his I-statement laden convention speech, I would compare him to Crist after not being named veep candidate by The Mack Daddy. He might not have said yes but he sure wanted to be asked.

Christie came out of GOPAC and is a St. Ronnie descendant via the same schooling at the feet of Newt that spawned Moosilla; he is nobody’s moderate but a bully with a long memory. Mittens is toxic and no one will touch him with tongs, so on that I do agree wholly with you.

    • Ebogan63

I could be wrong about all this, but I just find this development fascinating.

      You are not wrong.

    • Keithnohio

You are not wrong Kitty. Most Progressive blogs are talking about this about face by Mr. Christie. After all he is the consumate GOP politician. Change at the drop of the hat to enhance his political ambitions. Believe me Christie will be running for the GOP nomination in 2016 as a compassionate conservative moderate. LMAO….haven’t we seen enough of them in years gone by before the Teaparty took over? Gov. Christie will also have to join Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers during President Obama’s second term if he expects to lure the coveted WOMENS’ vote in 2016. Boy, I can’t imagine what post Obama America will be like. FOWARD!!!

      • BoomerGal

They can have his fat ass cause after THIS election, I am SO done.

        • Camille

          You and me both!

    • trose1

I thought the same thing. Christie is not dumb. I think he cannot stand the tea bag wing of GOP. He would happily throw them under the bus to get the GOP nomination. By throwing the blatant nasty baggers under the bus he gets the GOP nomination, He will also get the Dems who voted in 2010 to teach PBO a lesson.

Watching “Ghosts of Mississippi” – on ESPN, part of the 30 for 30 series that is the best docu-series on television ever – every subject is so well done. But this one is just heartwrenching. This one takes a look at the campus of Ole Miss in 1962 – James Meredith integrates the school the same year the football team is undefeated, the violence and turmoil on campus is just unbelievable. This just makes that picture of Courtney Pearson on the field with her father, as the homecoming queen, so much sweeter.

    – – –MSNBC Ridicules Romney for Collecting Food and Supplies for Sandy Victims

—– This one is really hard to believe, even for the most biased so-called “news network” in the nation.

MSNBC on Tuesday totally trashed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for collecting food and supplies at a storm rally event in Ohio to be sent to victims of Hurricane Sandy (video follows with transcript and commentary):

    – — – -SNIP — –
    – —So having a storm relief event with tables “piled high with flashlights, batteries, diapers, toothbrushes, mini-deodorants, fleece blankets, cereal, toilet paper and canned goods” along with two large television screens calling for donations to the Red Cross demonstrates a lack of compassion on MSNBC.

    – – –Romney Refuses to Discuss his Distorted Disaster Relief Morality – —

    — — –For Americans who live through a natural disaster, the feeling of helplessness during the event is second only to the aftermath when the damage is surveyed and one realizes that without assistance, there is little hope of ever recovering a semblance of normality. Because America is surrounded by oceans on three sides, chances of meteorological and hydrological disasters loom large, and when storm systems form over the ocean, phenomenon such as cyclones, typhoons, and hurricanes develop and as natural disasters go, the damage can be devastating. Climate scientists have warned for some time that due to global climate change, weather events like hurricanes will increase in severity, and along the East Coast, residents began feeling the effects of what has been termed a “Frankenstorm” due to the unique confluence of Hurricane Sandy, an early winter storm in the West, and a blast of arctic air from the North. In the aftermath of a disaster climatologists are predicting will decimate the East Coast, residents will depend on emergency relief from the federal government, and most will be thankful there is the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to give them assistance. However, Willard Romney believes disaster relief from the federal government is immoral, and he is not alone.

Romney’s obscene “immoral’ comment was made worse when he said, “What are the things we’re doing, that we don’t have to do? Those things (disaster relief), we’ve got to stop doing because we’re jeopardizing the future of our kids, it is simply immoral.” In Romney’s vision of government, all expenditures should to go to the wealthy, the military, and corporations, and his grand idea for disaster relief is handing the task of helping displaced Americans to private enterprise.

    miranda – —OOPS! – — -SHE’s DOIN’ IT — –AGAIN! — -Woo! Hoo! – —

    — – —Why I Am Endorsing President Barack Obama – —

    – — –Four years ago, I left the Republican Party of which I was a lifelong member and became an independent. Not long after, I supported Barack Obama in the 2008 election for president. I made this decision determined to look at the issues not as a Republican or a Democrat, but as an American.

It is through that lens that I consider my choice in the 2012 election. Like many other voters who crossed party lines to vote for Barack Obama in the last election, I have watched the 2012 campaign carefully and listened closely to what the candidates have said. I believe that President Obama should be re-elected.

Very few American presidents have been truly prepared to assume that job. Four years ago, Obama, a relatively inexperienced public servant, became the 44th President of the United States during one of the most difficult times our country has faced. The nation’s economy was on the brink of collapse. Our image overseas was tarnished, and our military was bogged down in two unpopular wars. I supported Obama then because I thought that he was unflappable. I saw him as a man with a keen intellect and a cool analytical head. I believed he would also be able to inspire those who had suffered most from a recession unparalleled since the Great Depression. In doing so, I reasoned, he would go a long way towards reuniting a nation deeply divided.

Obama was elected and took office, building on a number of stabilization programs initiated by the Bush administration. He took many other vital steps that reestablished our economic footing, including saving America’s automobile industry.

In the last four years, and despite the global downturn, America has come back from the brink.
